I guess I was lucky, I've ordered from HOR one time and got my order just fine. But seeing everybody elses problems I don't think I'll push my luck again. I've got enough aggravation without dealing with a place like HOR.

Hobby king is no better. I tried twice a couple of months or so ago to place orders. The first time they took my $500 and no order was created. They ignored my emails and the paypal claim till enough time had passed to escalate the claim. I received the money back as soon as it was escalated. They never replied to my emails. Thinking that was just an freak occurrence I tried again. Same thing, they took the money and no order was created. Ignored all emails and paypal claim till I was able to escalate again and got my money back. They had over $1000 of my money for almost a month all said and done with no explanation. I received a goofy email after it was all over asking me to give them an order number if I wanted them to help. Beyound comprehensible! (including me trying to order a second time). There is zero accountability. Paypal is making a fortune because this, the worse things get the better they do. This thread is just free advertising for them. Are there any other places people are 100% confident in other than OSE? It's the only business in this entire hobby I can place an order without thinking here we go....Comment

I agree with all those points guys.
I know of other members of my club that placed the same order for the motor & mount for our 8th scale boats and guess what they got it. That's after I ordered mine. So it's beyond me with HOR. I never was aggressive, I was understanding & I was far too patient over this matter.
As for Pay Pal. I have over 1000 transactions with one only claim on a incorrect part sent. I also have a 100% payment record. Too dam right this issue is not over by a long shot. I will be quite happy to take matters further & more then likely will just on principal of HOR & Pay Pal.Comment

A funny story about HobbyKing.... I asked customer service "At what temp do you store your Lipo batteries at??" I got 3 responses and none with an answer with any sort of reference to temp.
They just don't give a damn.
I still buy some things there but, I'm starting to think about going elsewhere. I've heard some stories of buddies buying batts and they are stuck at some Canada post location in Quebec for the last month!!
I order from HOR every once in a while but, I never lay down $500 to him ever. If I ever make a purchase like that it's going to be from Canada or USA.
Again, only once did he make a mistake on drive dogs and couplers in the many years I've dealt with him. I always get prompt emails and tracking numbers for my $20 or $30 orders of parts.

Johnny at HOR is difficult to put it lightly. He promised to ship a hull in one week, 10 days later I'm filing a dispute with Paypal. Why doesn't Paypal refuse service to people like that? I tried to order the hull from Monica at TFL but the shipping cost was more than the product. I felt bad because she really worked hard and I just couldn't justify the shipping cost. HK has a USA hub here in the northwest, and ordering from them has been a real pleasure. They ship fast and cheap. They just don't have the full inventory of the China site. Seems like ordering from China used to be so easy and cheap just a few years ago.

Even a broken clock is right twice a day. I talked with TFL directly and was told that Johnny at HOR is the "Hong Kong" distributor. He goes to TFL once or twice a week and hauls a truckload of stuff back to Hong Kong, where the shipping is much cheaper than China proper. I wouldn't have a problem if Johnny was honest and told me that he had to go get my item and that it might ship in the next two weeks, but he LIED! That's dirty pool! Fool me once, shame on you, fool me twice, shame on me. Paypal can't even get him to respond. Maybe he's driving the truck? TFL turned me on to a USA distributor. They don't have a lot of stuff, but had what I wanted, and shipped it within 2 hrs. They aim to please! I think they can get just about anything, but just have to wait if it has to come overseas. Customer service. What a concept! I think this is the beginning of a beautiful relationship.
