thats nice, have to check one of those out myself....another cheap supposedly waterproof option is the garmin gecko...got a couple of them off ebay for 25$ and they work great....only thing is if you have alot of CF it blocks the sat signal and then you have to mount on outside of hull..which we have done numerous times now with no probs....DJOriginally posted by Rocstar22 View PostNot sealed but fit in a pill bottle with a 138mah 2s lipo. I've thought of mounting the Garmin on the outside of my CF hulls (conductive materials interfere with GPS, radio, ect.), but at SAW speeds...I should say "crashes"...I rather not.Originally posted by olwarbirds View Postthats nice, have to check one of those out myself....another cheap supposedly waterproof option is the garmin gecko...got a couple of them off ebay for 25$ and they work great....only thing is if you have alot of CF it blocks the sat signal and then you have to mount on outside of hull..which we have done numerous times now with no probs....DJ"There's nothing else I really want to do other than get up and build boats." - Mike Fiore

I like the size of the voltron unit I think I'll look into it. I just bought a new camera and some other stuff so I will have to wait a little bit to get one.twissted from speed. Lead, fallow or get out of the way. Copy cats in back of the buss!!!

The pill bottle? Jeff at Herzog sells them that way. Also comes with a bracket you could mount in a hull to hold the bottle.Originally posted by Savage Skidoo View PostRocstar22 that's a great idea ."There's nothing else I really want to do other than get up and build boats." - Mike Fiore

tks for info, alot of the boats we run have at least some cf in them. Got me thinking on how to rig external ant/rcvr ....Ive got a radargun, but its dangerous because the boats have to be too close to it for accuracy.....DJOriginally posted by Rocstar22 View PostThe pill bottle? Yeah, I've done the radar gun too...agreed it's dangerous and I'm often alone at the pond. I've used several GPS units, Sky RC, Voltron, Garmin, Hobbyking, Eagle Tree. The Voltron is by far the most versatile with it's small size, accuracy, and range of voltage inputs. The Garmin 201 is great also.Originally posted by olwarbirds View Posttks for info, alot of the boats we run have at least some cf in them. I tried my GPS today in the hull. No go lol. I had to Velcro it to the top of my boat. I used a tether in case it came off. Yea I was nervous because I already lost one lol. It held on for a few 60+mph passes32" carbon rivercat single 4s 102mph, 27” mini Rivercat 92mph, kbb34 91mph, jessej micro cat(too fast) was
