We all use at Boondal & Lakeside Hockey tape made by Renfrew in Canada . Great stuff. I'm new but from what I have been told it's the best stuff out!!!

They are not glued down just placed them there contemplating the idea.

Tape always, but depending on the hatch and how it fits I may use a pin style catch on the front and a screw at the back, as above with a bit of fuel tubing to act as a seal.
Big fan of the Renfrew hockey tape, never had it come off, can't say the same for 3m electrical tape.
Got lucky once last season, big rush to get on the water, everybody else waiting, batteries not quite done yet, long and short forgot to tape up, luckily I was out front most of the run and didn't flip. Came in dry. Had a pin holding the front and a screw at the back of the hatch, no idea how I got the screw done up yet forgot the tape.....
If my boats upside down then who owns the one I thought I was driving the last two laps?

No, I don't work for home depot I in fact buy these at Lowes nonetheless this seal along with 4, 4mm countersunk screws and the tape I listed above will turn the hatch into a suction cup. Sometimes its hard to get the hatch off even after the tape and screws have been removed lol.
