Dave: Thank you for your valuable infos. Here is the pic of the rear.

Also, Which esc do you recommend? I am looking at two esc. (1) Castle Creation Hydra 120, and the other is Etti 125Amp. link below.

Both are great esc's either will work well. I an currently running an 8xl with a xpower 100 amp and not haveing any issues, and my titan is a bit heavier that your cat. And I have run a x645 prop

I havent looked them up recently but I would go with the one thats watercooled If they both are then if it were me I would choose by price...
Both will run an 8xl or higher without problems provideing you set up is clean and no problems.......... friction , bad alingment, binding of cable ect.

If I had to choose without looking at price I would choose the cc hands down!!!!!! better custumer suppor.

I am going to use a Feigao 9XL motor for this hull. I talked to a guy who bought the ETTI ESC, and he told me that he has issues with CC hydra esc so that why he is switching to the ETTI esc.

I looked at the rudder, i would be nervouse cutting into that... however ther are ways arond that problem. I can make a new rudder bracket the will aloow bigger props. Say if you choose a 9-10 xl a 645 maybe even a 447 might be a good prop with a clean set up...

There is a price difference and with that comes custumer support. with cc you will get it, with etti ????????? maybe maybe not but shipping will be about 3-4 weeks each way.... An x power 100 will work fine wth a 9 xl. and you can buy it in the U.S. Im not sure what Stevens return policy is but I would rather deal with any issues right here without language buriers(spellcheck)

When I ran my single drive cat with the 8xl I used an eagle tree and peaked at 91 amps. My cat is very similar in size (32 in from tip to end of sponson) and I run a 100 amp esc on that. I run a 645 prop and have never thermaled... My esc is a oemrc 100 amp from united hobbies. Normal running amps is about 60..

My main concerns is that which esc is more reliable . The price is not much of a diifference between the two. Also, i might go with an x power esc since it works fine with the 9xl motor

I do not use a bec, I use a 5 cell rx pack. Many have used them many say its ok. Some say they possible cause rx interference. If I were running a micro i may consider it due to weight. I even have a bec that I have never even used and dont really plan on it.

bec varies with each esc. normally there is a 12 cell cut off there are bec that will go over 12 cells. Some esc dont allow bec ect...

I use one of these ESC's - I have water cooled it myself, buy the usb programming dongle and you can run it up from your pc, set lvc, timing and other options

i have not had one issue with it to date. and ive had it over a year.
