FE sport hydro cowl locks?

Can you guys help me with some suggested sources and preferred style of cowling locks. I'm building my new PT Stealth. Phil highly recommends cowl locks in the instructions.

How can these things be water tight?

I never used lock for my previous PT45 and I did pushed it to 75mph with good taping job, btw, I did a lilte mod at the end of the hatch for easier taping, look at the picture below

Hey I have that boat! Still haven't run it yet, since I got to build my own and did not have time, Kevin, how are you? I intend to set it up, I knew i waas too inexpienced at that time, I ran your 45" Sniper, what a great boat!

Not a chance, but I am using the Shulze 40.160 in the 45" Sniper, thinking another ESC to work with the Neu 2215.

Allen do not put any cowl locks. Just tape it down well. The cowl locks are for nitro setups.

Cowl locks is to prevent high speed blow over where upon the hatch is sheared off by the force of impact, the cowl locks that is sold here is definitely not water proof. I installed these on my Mean Machine just for kicks but I had to "invent" a sub hatch so I can tape that and seal the hull. I have seen people put gaskets around the hull opening so I guess there are water tight ones.
During the 2013 Saw Event in LA, the high dollar twin drive Cats all have some form of cowl locks to prevent high speed shear off. But they still tape their hatch! Now what they use to prevent water from entering the locking mechanism I don't know. ( I was a pit man for Properchopper)

you want lock, you got lock here you go, that is what I did to my mono and super water tight, but like i said, hatch lock for PT45 is useless cuz the PT hatch is really long and weak, the best way is good taping job done.

I always use locks, thats just me. I like the looks, and I know the cowl is not coming off. I use a rubber boot on the bottom of the lock to keep water out. They dont seem to get in the way of tape down. It seems to work pretty well for me.
