Suggestions on Possible Build

I have a friend interested in building a XXX mono because I have another friend with a stuck Gas project XXX mono that he is selling. So I mentioned it to my buddies and I believe that they are going to do the deal, last I heard $300.00 Hull and Hardware.

So I'm called in to help build it, (My first Big Mono BUild). Now I'm calling you guys to help me with suggestions. We are going electric. (i'll get some pics tomorrow.)

I've seen the Hull It's undrilled with 5" rails and the hardware is the Mostly Aeromarine & Octura. Between Plastic trim Tabs Alum Servo Bases, Auto-Bailer, Octura Strut and rudder, it's mostly complete just need motor mount and a few misc things. I have to find out what size strut it is (.250 or .187)

Should I suggest a more modern strut or stinger as well as a modern rudder. The ones on there now are kinda bulky.

For power I'm thinking 10s, Castle ESC 200HV & Castle 2028 780kv motor. At this point we are open to all suggestions. Don't know if this guys is looking to do OVAL or SAW racing, or just a nice moderate fast boat.

You are all set, xxx is very stable hull and big, you will endup around 20lbs rtr, I few thing you need to know is .187 flex is a must, 10s2p is required (to me), you at the edge of Castle 200HV with this setup so dont be so gready with props, run it few laps then check heat, everything over 120 degree is NO NO if you want a reliable boat, x452 is a good start and work it up from there by keeping track with temp (motor, esc, lipos).
If you have extra cash, get Speedmaster hardware, dont use Plastic trim tabs and please get rid of Auto Bailer.

I wouldn't bother with 3/16 go with 1/4. Use the stepped down prop shaft if you need to stick with smaller props.

oh sorry i mistaken, I meant 1/4 shaft not 3/16 =)
