Can you get the nut free from the rest of it? So you can see the fingers that bite onto the shaft?

it hits nylon on shaft liner before it will go that far back it will spin in collet but not coming out gonna try some

No,
You just need to take out the one bolt holding the strut in the brackets at the transom first.
Than it will all come out very easily out the back,
And than take the drive dog off the strut shaft and use it on the new one piece flex shaft if it did not come with one.

loosened the pivit bolts i have lubed colet tried to spread colet with the nut off wiggled the shaft spun it tried to tap out on it with vice grips on the stub no luck

What do you have a stinger or a strut at the transom ?

its a stinger got it off had to take stinger off . got shaft out only way on 2 peice . thank god for the one peice for lubing working on cowl locks now . will post pics some time soon

ok here is another dumb question . anyone ever do a inner hatch cover plexiglass and seal for this boat . aint drilled anything yet just brainstorming waterproofed servo and mounted it. waiting on some parts from kinetic

boat is progressing got home made hatch locks done with ideas i got on here thanks everyone got servo watersealed with grease and spray electrical tape . waiting on coroision x to get here to do rec and will seal it afterwords still playing with new radio got a turnigy fx3 seems pretty nice for what i paid wish it would work with skyfly rec . there only 7.00 but these are only 12.00 still alot cheaper than hitec challenger rec at about 40.00 if you can find them will be having hitec radio and rec s for sale soon if this raidio i bought works out. prolly a sv27 soon to to up my fun buget for pursuit

ok im here to bug you guys again boat is coming together got cowl locks made hatch floatation seals for hatch got a turnigy -seaking 180a esc and programmer need to find info on setting up esc for stock motor what should i set timming and also should i do the heatsink mod will be running 2 water pickups to supply cool water and larger diam water hose reamed nipples out for flow . with 2- 4cell 5500 in parelel is wat is what im thinking on for now with that said whats a good starting point for a prop as said earlier i have a finished x4403 from sv27 is that to small or should i go bigger

The 440 /3 is a good start. A 2 blade would be even gentler on things(ESC). Don't worry about cooling mods until you start pushing it.

And where are you at motor wise? Which one?

Stock hk motor I think,
And timing should be low for that.
