i can't figure this out and need help

i'm trying to set up a hobbyking 120A boat esc, of coarse it did not come with instructions and somehow in the process of trying to get it set up ,I had my esc plugged into the steering port instead of the throttle now my throttle works when i use the steering and i can't figure out how to reprogram it,i tried to do the whole start up procedure but i get no beeps or anything, I'm new to electric as i come from a gas background so this is all new. please help me

Go to the HK page of the particular esc, part way down the page just above the customer reviews click on the purple box marked files & you can down load the instructions.

tried that, if i plug the esc into the throttle port on the receiver and then follow the instructions, I get nothing no beeps nothing, if I plug the esc into the steering port I get beeps and can turn the motor on, I know the throttle side port works because i can control a servo from that side, maybe i should try a different receiver and controller? i'm lost

What tx&rx and what esc are you using ?
Have any links for them ?
Also did you try calibrating the tx to the esc first ?
Than do the program setting for the esc.

tx - tower hobbies astro gx202

          rx- tower 2 channel gxr202

          esc hobbyking 120A boat esc

i tried to calibrate with the plug in the throttle port of the rx but it will not respond but a servo works in that port, if i plug the esc into the steering port it works but that is backwards i need to find out how to start all over as if i never plugged anything in.

Sorry I meant links to your stuff.
Try taking the battery's out of the tx to start over,
                May be that will work.
Than you may have to try a rebind to rx to tx,
Than calibration of the tx to esc than do the programing again.

Which HK 120 amp esc? Turnigy, Aquastar, HobbyKing, Birdie, Hobbyking SS.... they have a few 120 amp escs! Each works/arms differently. Some need the throttle channel reversed, some need extreme trim settings to get them to arm.
Lots of good info given but it won't be of any use if you are using a different ESC than people think. Most are assuming the Turnigy 120 I think, good esc.
When you have it plugged into the steering port does the rudder servo work if it's plugged into the throttle port at the same time?
Just did a search on your radio! WOW! Antique! I've got an Aquacraft AM pistol radio and rx I'd send you for the cost of shipping, still old technology but a little more modern. I'm not sure if it's actually legal to operate your radio anymore, not that the RC cops will find you....
Send me a PM if you want that radio, shouldn't be much to ship. Used it until I got a 2.4 radio 3 years ago, just sitting on a shelf....
If my boats upside down then who owns the one I thought I was driving the last two laps?

it is a hobby king esc, I ended up finding another rx and radio just like the one i was using, i know its an antique..lol and this on seems to work, now if i can just figure out what all the beeps mean , would switching the rx and radio make it any easier to set up?
