    MHZ Extreme Lizard Question

    Greetings everyone!

I've decided to build a Mhz Extreme Lizard in Martini racing livery However I have no clue about the recommended setup.

Prior to this boat, I was using Pursuit with 4074 2200 kv on 4S. I was thinking that I could use 4082 2200kv on 4s. What do you guys think?

Is the hull new....what are your expectations.....If new, what hardware, if used, existing....what ESC, batteries, etc.

The Extreme Lizard is a great rough water hull.

      Hey Douggie!

Thanks for the reply, The hull is brand new in Carbon /Kevlar. Unfortunately I have to keep the costs down to a mimimum. I'm expecting it to be fast but not extreme.. Also I want it to be reliableand want it to use it with a single pack to keep things more simple..

So here is my list. Please let me know if you recommend something else..

      Basic 180 ESC

      Stinger

      Rudder

      Trim Tabs

      Turn fins

      Water outlet

I have also noticed that most of the guys prefer the run lower kv's with 5-6's lipos...

Interesting hardware....looks good.....I am not familiar with "basic" 180 ESC, therefore no comment.....Turnigy 180 ESC is ok dependant on motor/prop combination.

I would look at a lower KV motor and 5S

What run times do you want?

          4082 2200kv should be fine on 4s.

this boat runs awesome so I'd model mine after building it in most ways.

Interesting that there are no trim tabs nor turn fins in the video. I have mine with Leopard 4082 2000kv. I use a m545 prop. My hardware -stinger: http://www.offshoreelectrics.com/pro...os-stinger-str ( the 3/16" one) Trim tabs:http://www.offshoreelectrics.com/pro...d=ros-spdt-502, rudder:http://www.offshoreelectrics.com/pro...d=ros-spdr-010 turnfin is similar toyours.
            Love that boat!

Well I might be the biggest noob here on the forum when it comes to electronics:) For 4082 what kv would you advise, For 5s-6s setup?

What speeds are you running with that setup? 4s as well?

I didnt GPS my runs, but I have a Pursuit that is GPS'd at 46.5 mph and they were runing neck to neck. I am sure that there is more if I spend the time to carefully fine tune the hardware.
I have it on 4s with Seaking 180 ESC.

I eventually got a bigger rudder ( still needs to be cut down) for the water dual pick up. For "looks" I put on these turning fins but I prefer the curved ones for running.

tlandauer- do you have any running video? whenever i search this boat it seems a lot of guys don't run with turn fins but I too think they would prove beneficial whats your take on this boat with and without fins?

also overall how does it run/turn? for winter I'm torn either one of these, a mhz aligator, or a mystic 113cm (have a 138 but want a real rocket).

An old vid from WWIV in 2008 - The Yellow Lizard (with white temporary hatch) kicking butt on my green DF33 and Bill M's Cyber 32. IIRC we ran Neu 1515 1Y 2200 KV's on 4S2p.

Sorry, I don't have a vid of this boat running, as for the boat running w/o the tabs and fins---let me put it this way, I am surprised at how well it was doing w/o them! I want to take mine off ( turn fins) next time running and compare a little. Mine were positioned a bit too low and I suspect they were adding extra drag. My take is that for sport running it will be ok as demostrated in the vid which you linked.
