best rtr for under 500

Hello all once again its been awhile since i have been on this site. I have been into rc for 20 years (trucks planes and collective helis) . about 2 yrs ago i bought my 1st rc boat a uh-1 , i sold it about 2 months after i bought it. i was frustrated with prop issues and just the plain fact that its a right turn model only basically. Anyways im ready to try for a boat again i just need something that i can goto the pond with and have fun and turn both ways under power. Any suggestions on something for under 500 brushless doesnt have to have a tx and rx.. I have lipos to run 4s or 6s.. Perfer a v hull or cat.. thx for anyone answering and helping

seems that folks are really liking the revolt30 boat and you can buy it rtr or artr...and fairly upgradeable to boot plus they look decent and come in a few diff colors!

Also a very good V hull boat is a Pursuit,
And it handles very nice in glass or choppy waters.

I love my Revolt enough to have bought two of them. One is stock, the other has way too much power for the hull.

I'm new to boating (but not RC). Like Cinnabun, I'm fond enough of the Revolt to have bought two. I got them from Tower during a sale, and, with the coupon code, paid 175 and 170 dollars for them in the receiver-ready form.

Do you have that coupon code still and is it even good if you do.. I have seen the revolt it looks nice but a friend told me the aquacraft motley crew is faster stock than a stock revolt does anyone know if that's true ? Which has a better hull construction and electronics

The current coupon codes are always on Tower's front page. They've taken the price back up, but you can find the RT/RxR versions for 350/200 on eBay. You may have to pay shipping, though. I suggest contacting RC Chief Hobbies. I've gotten good service from him, and he seems willing to meet others' prices.

The Revolt, Motley Crew and Lucas Oil Cat all have the same electronics. The Motley and Lucas are the same boat, except for the decals. I don't have any experience with the cats, but the rule of thumb is that cats are faster than monos on smooth water, while deep-V monos cope better with rough water.

Impulse is a very nice hull. I would like to get my hands on one some day, but perform very close to the revolt and is quite a bit more money the last time I looked at them. You also dont get the nice grim racer hardware. The revolt has very nice hardware for an rtr

For 500 bux you can build something way Better than a rtr if you got skills.

My 0.02, from the experience Pursuit is a good boat, value for bucks. Haven't run others but it was worth the $$, no regrets. JMO.

The meaning of "RTR" has evolved for me personally, these days I would consider a "RTR" if it was built / converted by someone here whose work I have read or seen. I have a pretty good feel when I see a picture posted in the F/S section. Otherwise I prefer to build myself, but it took more than a year for me to get there.
Having said that, I am still banging my head for missing Heaving Earth's Nitro conversion Miss Elam "for sale'' thread!
Now if I were into mono, I will be banging my head again for losing that Titan 29"

changed the motor for a 3674 can ,the coupler for a collet style and upgrade flex from ose

fast , solid and stable to a point it's almost boring
