Question about Lehner motors; LK vs HI-AMP

Can anyone explain the differences between the Lehner LK motors and the HI-AMP motors? Looking into having a few custom 6 wind 3080's made up and I have a choice over the two but I don't have a clue as to what the differences are. Any help appeciated

LK= cooling fan on front of motor.

Use the motorchooser with the graph on there wensite and will give you some baseline amp figures for the motor of you choice than double for q boat. These thing are almost bullet proof and can be pushed hard as lond as your esc is up to the task

I don't know what would require a 3080, but be ran on 8s though...
Since he's talking about more than one motor, I am going to assume that he has a HPR 233, MHZ 240, or similar hull...either that or these are going in separate boats.
A hull that size would be better suited with 12s2p per side, or more.

Hi Keith :) OK, i gotta spill the beans. 92" Radtek. Thinking of going with your 300amp Heifei swordfish or maybe a 400amp Flier.

Maybe a 3080/8 or even a 7 could be better suited for 12s but 10s is where I was going to start. 40000 rpm, 350 amp range ?

O.K. By the motorchooser, I need to go in the opposite direction so with 12s it looks like an 8 wind would get me down under 300 amps and about 28000 RPM, correct? I have 2 castle 2028's but was looking for a bit more dependable motor. Maybe an " X528 Beast" would do the trick and keep costs down as well?

What sort of speed are you aiming for? Maybe a set of MGM big guys will do the trick nicely. The 3080's would be a hungry motor. If I was doing the setup I would run it on 12s 8000mah 35c as a minimum per motor. Maybe somewhere in the 28-33k rpm. I would pick the 8 wind also at 656kv would get you just under 30k rpm under load.

Starting off on the low to mid range. 60 to 70ish till I get a good feel for the hull. Took me a while to get used to the 37" cat with twins and this one will be long term retention. I don't expect to sell this one off too soon and once I feel comfortable at these speeds then I'll shoot for higher.
