Transom water pickup location.

I am putting a transom mounted water pick up on my 36" team believer for a second water line. Where is the best location for it and what depth is best to
Set it to?

This may not answer your question, but I thought I'd share this alternative solution. When I race-prepped my MC I removed the stock transom mounted water pickup in favor of a rudder pickup. Then to get separate cooling to the motor I did a simple propwash pickup. Works fine.

hi tony nice job on the prop wash pick up would love to buy one haha for some of my boats where i have got no room on the transom for traditional pick ups as the aeromarine prop pick ups are over 20 bucks haha sorry to hi jack this thread

Have you ever used a thru hull water pickup? They're really easy to install and drag is kept to a minimum also the cheapest at a $1.75 on kintec.

Just drill a hole in the hull and epoxy into place.

No need using a thru hull pick up, the ways Tony and Gil showed you in there reply's works out great , I ran one on my Aeromarine Conquest Gas Cat similar to Tony's and have run Gil's way on a Insane Gas Mono.

Thru hull water pickups rely on pressure under the hull to push water through the system. I run these in all of my boats, I noticed boats ran better with through hull pickups but then again these were 80+mph boats.

I wasn't saying, thru hull water pickups don't work, if done properly, just that the pick-ups mention, are easier to install, and will take care of any water flow issues in the Team Believer......
