Has anyone seen this yet? It looks to be an awesome option for true waterproofing of a surface. It literally creates a hydrophobic surface that repels the water not just protects it from water. I was wondering how this would work on the internals of some of the parts we wouldn't want getting wet, IE. ESC, possibly batteries, servos......Receivers! Maybe we could eliminate the need for balloons to put the Rx in in those models without a sealed hatch. In addition to that I wonder what it would do to the bottom of a hull. I put this in my automatic liter box and it is AMAZING! absolutely nothing is sticking to the bottom anymore. Here is a good video:

The video description says liquid electrical tape, it's not quite like that. That creates a plastic barrier whereas this creates a thin truly water repelling barrier, just like oil in water it literally pushes the water away. I'm in the process of putting it on the bottom of my Mini Rio just to see. One thing I will say is when it is applied it isn't a smooth surface anymore it's actually a little rough but I don't think that the water molecules even get close to the rough areas.

No, Diesel used spray liquid electrical tape.

There was a thread a while back about a product called ultra ever dry. Either they've partnered with rust oleum or doing the same thing, but its a nano tech coating

Never heard of that but NeverWet is the company and they partnered with rustoleum. The product is available at the home depot only, at least that's the only place I've found it.

Just got some the other day to try on my boots or whatever else. At 20 bucks its much more affordable then the ultra ever dry

Finished putting the coating on the bottom of my mini rio. The water just flies off the hull. Can't wait to try it and see what it does!

Could that stuff be used to protect the wood interiors of boats like the PB Impulse's, BJ's, AQ SV / SVR, etc. ??

According to the manufacturer wood is definitely on the list. Check out the video If they can protect cardboard, wood should be good

This you would think goes against common practice of sanding the hull so that water sticks and glides over the water. I wonder how it will efect the hull with water not wanting to stick. Cant wait to here some real world input.

I use hk gt3 receivers, they are only a few bucks each. What I have done is take the case off and coat the receiver board with crc soft seal, haven't had any issues with moisture on the boards since. But I still put the receiver in a baloon.

I sprayed the ultra ever dry on a hull, yes it creates the hydrophobic surface but it is like lining your hull with felt. Not smooth, has a rubbery feel. On esc and such it's great, but for me it's the last thing I would put on the underside of a boat that I want to go fast and smooth.
