    40" mono hull

Hey guys I have a 40" Mono that was a old nitro boat at one time and was wondering if it could be converted to electric or might it be too heavy. I have all of the hardware for a Vanquish hull and was wondering if it would work in this conversion or should I just look for a new hull. I have no idea what motor or speed control either. Any ideads at all will be wecome thanks guys.

The experts here will need a lot more info to advise you. From what I've seen, the stock Vanquish hardware will work fine. WHAT is the hull??? WHAT other supplies do you have for FE???
If nothing, you are looking at a minimum of $1500. Know this, and accept it before jumping in.

I have no idea what kind of hull this is but I do see some wood stringers inside the boat and I have all the drive hardware, rudder and shaft parts. Everything that the vanquish has I have for a boat. I was just wondering if this hull might be too heavy as some of these newer hulls seem to be so light. I have no clue what I am doing as I fly helis and airplanes so this is new for me. I was also looking at the Genisis from Hobby King so any help would be great.

To be honest you would be better off buying something else, anything else!!!!! this hull is old cracked and broken, kinda like a pair of shoes on a dead guy, they look ok but I wouldn't wanna put em on!!! you can get good used hulls for under $100 bucks, that may even have hardware, look around, this hull will just give you nightmares!!! Like the dead guys shoes!!! If you want to get into boating there are plenty of really good RTR's between 250 and 400 bucks.

Yes it looks pretty ruff for a first boat and first step in to FE,
Do you have the hatch for it ?
What size S rate cells do you have on hand for the helis and airplanes ?
You need 30c rate cells or better and 3000mah or better for run times.

As you already have the Vanquish hardware, I suggest you buy a Vanquish hull from Hobbyking as a good place to start.
You will also be able to purchase all the electronics from Hobbyking.

This will give you good experience with researching and assembling a FE boat, and you will have the opportunity to select your own equipment. This will give you less frustration in the long run.

Thanks guys Im not one to reinvent the wheel so a new boat it is. I have 5 and 6s batteries for airplanes and helis and was hoping to use those. I was wondering if a Cat would be any better as I have no clue, since I am going to get a new hull a friend has a Genisis hull and has no interest in using it. I dont know if the hardware will work but I am just throwing it out there. The Vanquish hull is another possability however I was thinking Cat if I had to buy a hull. I just want to be able to go fast with it later down the road. Once again thanks guys for all your imput on this I am sure everyone has heard this from a newbe a thousand times so thatnks for hanging in there with me.

Do you want the boat to handle choppy waters ?
Deep v hulls are good for that,
Cats can handle a little lite chop.
Where will you be running the boat most of the time ?
What Mah and C rating are your cells ?
These boats need and pull high amps in there setups.

The Mah is 5000 and C ratings is usually 40 C .I think Barbossa was right with the Vanquish as my first hull. With the 5000 MAH what motor and speed control will work as a good setup that is dependable. Second question is are bigger mono hulls made cause I would like to take on in some big water where the waves could be a factor. I am sure it will be sometime before I'm ready for any large scale boat but those Mystic C5000 sure are sweet.

Ok the cells will do the job,
Hear is a very cool V hull build and video's.
I love it sea running video to the island,
And it is not a high dollar setup ether.

Not to sure on that info,

But this was my shot in the dark at modding a Pro boat 36" Shockwave to FE.
It was just a quick mod for testing,
Down the line I will make it look nicer.
