Mean machine v3 or fightercat cheetah?

Hi, im looking at getting a cat, and have narrowed down to either mean machine or cheetah?

i have 180a esc and 3974 2200kv turnigy aquastar, will be running 4s, have prop m445, x642.

which would you recommend? which would be less prone to flipping?

There's a significant size difference between the two. With the power you have the MM will be a good setup - I've run mine with a 4074 2200KV motor on 4S2P with a T-180 and a M445 and it does well. The Cheetah will work with your motor but it'll be sweating hard.

Any Cat hull will blow over heading into a wind puff - they're tunnel hulls and pack air to keep the hull lifted. Careful throttle control is a must.

I'm with Tony. If you want to use what you have, the MM would be a better choice. It's a little smaller but just as much fun!

Tony, I saw one of your you tube clips for the MM, you had dual rudder setup. How does the dual rudder compare with a single long rudder?

I went with the dual rudder setup to race P-Offshore at WWIX - the Offshore course has both right and left turns. It definitely handled left turns better but there's a penalty in the additional drag of a second rudder. In the vid you saw I was using tired batteries and a smallish prop - the boat actually ran much faster when I propped it up and used my better batteries. Boat's now up for sale minus the electronics - you could just drop in your goodies and go play if it's not too expensive to ship to AU - I'm just asking $90 for the boat with both rudder setups BUT it's rather seriously cosmetically challanged 'tho 100% intact. I ended buying a new mean machine and parts hope to get it in the next 2 weeks.

Just curious though, i will eventually get a cheetah or something larger - i have 5674 2000kv, would this be too much for the cheetah?

I think Mean Machine is little better than cheetah so i will suggest you MM.

5674 motor 2000kv? Would you be able to post a link I haven't seen or heard of this motor. I don't see why you can't run that motor on 4s2p. Might have a bit more torque roll than other cheetahs but as long as the prop isn't huge I think you'll be ok.
