Well, that was a quick $170...

Actually, not sure at what point it went, but it turns out the motor was bad and that took out at least the ESC I had just bought to replace the one in this post. Not sure what, if any, role it played in taking out the others. Funny thing is after the replacement stopped working (which was about 10 seconds into using it), I was using the motor for a while on 6S and had no issues with it for a while which had me scratching my head. It finally crapped out completely and that's the only way I figured it out. However, like you, I ended up with a much better motor in the end :D. Has a Leopard 4082 1600kv in it now- on 6S it is MUCH faster then the Feigao, scared to even try it on 8S lol.

Knock if off fellas these are toy boats and we're damn tired of being your babysitters. WE have better things to do.

Yea I'm working on getting that smell out too!! Had a cooling line blow off. (Was planning on clamping all of them just didn't get around to it yet as this boat wasn't up to speed yet. )

I'll take a look in my shop and see if I still have it. Doubt it but I'll check.

It is still on the bench in my garage. It's pretty black but will clean up. I'll get you some measurements later on.

Last time out, I smoked the 150 due to a plug in the cooling system, which turned out to be a blockage in the motor mount cooler. Missing being able to run 8S, I ordered an Etti 120 HV from Steven a few days ago. Package shows up today, get it all soldered up, check for flow through the cooling lines (blew through them) and hit the lake. I repeatedly kept telling myself to make sure to check the water outlet when it comes by but kept having issues with the collet slipping on the flex, so kept getting distracted. Finally got it tight enough to not slip, and was so overwhelmed with joy seeing it run on 8S again that I forgot to check the water outlet as it was coming by. The pics speak for themselves . I know many have lost a lot more than $170 in this hobby, as have I, but to lose two ESC's in a row due to being absent minded just sucks. I only checked the hose going into the boat, never thought to check the rudder pickup- I should have .

I thought for sure I was going to lose the boat- it flamed up pretty good. Wish I had my camera with me, it at least looked cool sitting out in the middle of the lake at dusk glowing like a chinese lantern . I don't know how there are no holes in the boat. Gonna be fun cleaning this one out! The only "good" news is I was smart enough to use old packs for the maiden run...

Ran for a minute or so then ALOT of smoke came out.

When I smoked the Etti 150 on 6S, it was a tanish-brown smoke that smelled pretty bad but did not dirty the hull at all. When the 120HV let loose on 8S- it was thick black smoke that smelled horrible and made a huge mess of the hull!

Never GPS'd on 8S, IIRC, it was mid *maybe* upper 40's on 6S. Been at least 4+ years since I GPS'd it, so I don't remember exactly what it ran.

I've used fast orange hand cleaner to get the stink. It's citric acid though so probably not the best thing for the resin. Kills the smell though.

Us i always run water through my lines also. Just a good safety measure to make sure I don't blow any more up also.
