Definitely not going to use spray paint. I know some people like epoxy paint and other like automotive. Not gonna paint anytime soon just looking at the options for what is the best for a boat application.

Automotive spray paint is lots less chip resistant and veryeasy to clean. If you spray it thin it will be lightweight.

Which do you have on your boat?

I have the Sport 20 strut (first one) on mine. Keep this in mind too... This is only my opinion; the further away the prop is from the transom, the harder the motor needs to work to lift the boat. Your increasing the length of the lever arm...

James on the lush I had I use the longer one after data long I think I was pulling more amp then Mike in the corner I was maxing out right at 120 to do it again I would go with the shorter one

In the first picture, isn't the strut fitted into the bracket the wrong way around? Surely the tapered end should be facing forward in relation to the mounting bracket.

its an optical illusion. it looks like the back is the tapered side but its not. he has it right, as i have the same strut

Yes. But yours is fitted into the bracket 180 degrees the other way. That's all I'm saying. It is not fitted the right way round in the link photo.

well then i dont know what photo you are reffering to, because the photo detox posted has the strut in the right direction. which photo are you talking about?
