Might be a good idea to run that Spartan stock with 2 3's a few times before modifying it. Once that boat breaks 50 out of the box it does some serious chine walking

Here is a video of my spartan and if i had been using better packs i would have been able to get it a little faster but this is about as good as the handling gets on a spartan

Turn fins and trim tabs are not hardware typically used on a cat, they are for v hulls. Only time I've heard of some one using tabs on a cat was Fluid and he was going for saw records. Think he said they didn't do much till the 80 mph mark or something like that.

Adjustments on a cat are generally made with CG, strut height and angle.

That being said put it in the water and see what happens. An hour in the field is worth four in a book or forum.

I think what their saying is there is not a need for them on a cat hull which there is not a need for either tabs or turn fins that's all

Also your turn fins are mounted in a pointless place. instead of just bolting stuff to useless points of your boat, maybe you should research.

Turn fins are useless on a cat. Your trim tabs are mounted in the absolute wrong place and will do absolutely nothing.

I would like to see your MG 17 with brushless setup, I sold mine cause it was a dog even for my son. Got a Atomik Barbwire and that think rocks!!!

all I know is the boys had a great time doing it. I also plan on having the Geico 17 up and running within the next day or two. And will post that video and I think it will nasal lot of people how fast I got the bruhed motor boat to run with its new brushless setup.

Well zach, just have some fun for now. Don't be unrealistic about your goals. Even getting from 50mph to 60 takes some time if you want to do it without swimming after your boat all day. As far as batteries go, once you start putting bigger motors it takes more juice to run them, and running two3s packs is gonna be tough on those packs. Runtimes will be cut way down. Take some time to learn about how all this stuff works.... It doesn't happen overnight.

You can run two 4s packs but it needs to be wired parallel not series like the boat is pre wired
