Just setting up my esc and want to make sure that i have wired it correctly and if it will work with the series coming straight out of the esc like i have done? The Ubec is there to mainly for hitec servo not sure what volt output the swordfish gives so this way i can programme 7.4v photo.jpg

Yes, you have the serial connection correct here, but you'll have less resistance if you replace the EC5 connectors with straight 5.5 or 6mm bullets and eliminate the harness-- you can plug one battery lead directly into the other (but you'll need to be careful not to short the packs if you use staight bullet connectors-- you need to pay attention when you hook 'em up).

What voltage is the Castle Ubec rated for? If it is not rated for the total voltage you are running it will burn up on plug in.

When we talk about 5.5mm or 6mm bullet connectors, it is a different concept. You need to get rid of the Deans/EC5/Traxxas type of connector where the positive and negative are housed in ONE unit. Your battery will have two separate wires, one positve and one negative, now if you want to have a series connection, you plug battery A's positive into battery B's negative, the Negative of battery A goes into the Negative of ESC, the positive of battery B goes into ESC's positive.

That's the way to do it also, Red hot female is shown in the picture and is pretty much a standard.

For me it is the same, but people have their own preferances so you might get different feed back/advices. It is important as pointed out earlier that you take extra caution when connecting, above all, it is not uncommon during the excitement to plug the two wires from the SAME battery into each other, then

I first connect ( no particular order) battery A with battery B ( positive-to-negative), leaving the remaining two protective caps on with their respective terminals, then after everything is double checked, I plug in one terminal at a time into the ESC while the last cap is still covering that last terminal! Hope this is clear.

You can plug them in any order. Note, you'll usually get a sizeable spark on the last connection, but that is normal, don't panic 8^)

Serial? That's what you have for breakfast...

The EC5's should be good to 120 amps...

Serial ... series..
When you have multiple packs wired together there are 2 basic formats.
Series or parallel..
eg 3 x 2S2000 packs
as series 2+2+2=6S2000mAh
as parallel 2/2/2=2S3P = 2S6000MAh
