Extending esc wires

Hey need to extend wires for esc to motor. Motor already has bullets, can I just solder some wire 10awg or 12 awg to the esc then solder the bullets to that and if course shrink wrap it.

Thats about it. I tin the ends very well and then overlap the tinned section of the wires. I then put the heat to the ends while squeezing them together with a pair of needlenose plyers. If the connection doesnt look perfect, I redo it untill I get it right. On heavier gauge wire I wrap the conductors with copper rigging wire (from a fishing tackle shop). This holds the wires together while soldering. I try not to extend wires unless absolutely necessary but the few times I have done it, the set up worked well.

Thanks yeah I don't have a choice running swordfish esc and leopard 4074 in spartan and the wires from the motor are fairly short and only one place to mount the esc in the removable tray
