    ESC/Throttle range help

Ok, After trying to program my ESC for throttle range the boat is now doing were stuff Reverse and now forward and when I turn of transmitter throttle the motor goes into full throttle postion. I think I need to just start over but cannnot get ESC into programming mode. Please let me know if my procedure is right. I have a the stock transmitter for the BJ 29,SK 180amp and Neu 1515.

    1) Set ch 2 to reverse.
    2) set throttle trim all the way up.
    3) Pull trigger all the way and turn on transmitter
    4) Plug in ESC
    5) after one beep release trigger and bring transmitter to reverse.
    6) after another beep, bring to neutral, I should hear 2 beeps?
    7) What is the step after all these beeps? Shut everything down?

Why does the motor go to full throttle after I shut receiver down?

This is all new to me so I am having a tough time figuring this out so any help is appreciated! Weather is so nice and I want to try this out and bummed I couldnt get it going yesterday

When you said you have a stock tx, if it is Proboat, you should not set ch 2 to rev., that only applies to Futaba system of Futaba based system such as Tactic brand.
I never bring the tx to reverse after calibrating "full forward". Memory doesn't tell me if SK 180 has reverse---that's if you want it set that way. try to set ch 2 to "N" see if it helps.

Unplug your ESC before turning off your tx!
also, after you programed your ESC properly, always make sure the tx is on before you plug in the batteries to the ESC, it's simple to forget that, I still make the mistake from time to time!
In any case, if you turn off your tx and your motor starts to run, need to set fail safe! What is the position on the four little dials on the front of the batterry housing? They should all be on the "Max" . These are End Point Adjustments.

Hopefully setting ch 2 to "n" works, don't know why you set it to "r" , sometimes the motor turns the "wrong" way, to correct this, simply switch any two wires from the ESC to the motor, don't need to reverse the cnannel to correct this, forgive me if you already know, just trying to figure out possible cause.
Got to go to work, hopefully someone else can be of bigger/better help.
Hope you still catch the nice weather! Happy Boating!

i think i misguided you a bit, its been a while since ive calibrated one. no need to push stick to reverse. just hold stick full throttle, plug in esc, wait for two beeps, then release to neutral.

tlaund....I re-binded the receiver/transmitter (fail safe is a default setting) and the motor still goes to full throttle when I cut the transmitter off. This troubles me because if I lose signal I will lose control of boat. I tried to enter back into the program mode for throttle range but all it does is beep once, then four times (4c2p). If I set the throttle trim all the way down the motor will no run, but when I set throttle trim to neutral the motor runs half throttle. For some reason I cant figure out how to get it back into program mode. My pond is flat dead calm and I got a boat that wont run properly...bummer..

well i just spent some time on the phone with him, and no matter what we tried, the esc wont calibrate. when plugging in with throttle stick at full throttle, the esc should emit two beeps. it wont. it just beeps four times then goes to full throttle. we tried every setting on the tx and no matter, its not calibrating, so either the esc is bad, or the radio is not working properly. i suggested emailing steven to try to get an exchange. at least if its the esc a new one should work properly, and if it doesnt he knows its the radio issue. what else could it possibly be?

Did you set channel 2 to "n"? On Spektrum radio that is what works. I am not home now to see how my throttle trim is, but as long as you pull the trigger ( tx on, that is), then plug in your batteries to the ESC, should be able to enter program mode.
Also, like you did before: set all settings to max, program once more, unplug, tx on, replug, if motor spins, now turn throttle trim to middle position. The thing I don't remember is that where to set the throttle trim for the INITIAL program, I went thru the same problem with the Tactic till someone told me the throttle trim should be dead middle for the INTIAL program.

Spend about 20 minutes on the phone with HV and no dice. I can get it to the program mode but after the two beeps, then beep the boat goes to full throttle. Even after I turn the trim to neutral. This is really frustrating....

If you set the knob dead center and program, that IS 100%, I used to set to max, but center is where is at, because there is no end point adj. For me, if I did your way, when I power up the next time, I always had to adjust again.
