      Good choice, enjoy your boat!

PS .... Octura M445 seems to be a popular prop for the Revolt with stock setup ... (I will find out once the snow goes away!)

I am either planing on using my futaba 4pl controller or I may use the traxxas tqi controller from my summit, leaning towards the tqi because I can get the ipod adapter and watch battery voltage and temps. What are your guys thought also I'm afraid to drop my 4pl in the water I use it on my losi scte and 8ight. My other question is do you have to drill a hole to mount the antenna I was thinking of that then using silicone to seal it

Can that tx work in the water ?
Most land tx do not work very well in the water.
I like the 2.4ghz Tactic or I would use a fly sky gt3b that I hear work good to,
I have one just never used it yet.
The tactic rx I have in all my boats and works pretty good.
You can bind all the rx's to one tx or not.
          ? ONLY IF THEY WORK

i have the tqi setup in my villain and it seems to work good but there is a spot for the antenna the spartan uses the same radio as i have form my summit just a 2 channel and this is what futabas website said in a description paragraph "The 4PL 2.4GHz S-FHSS offers many of the advanced features that car, truck and boat racers desire" so i should be good either way just wondering ow ppl mount there antennas

as far as im concerned, i only need two things out of my radio. throttle and steering. i dont have time to look at all kinds of info while im running. i just run my boat for a couple of minutes then bring it in. theres plenty of added nonsense you can do, but in the end, you weant to be watching your boat and having fun.

The Tactic rxs' don't have external antennas - I believe that is the reason there is no predrilled hole for an antenna. If you drill a hole, be sure to put tape over the gelcoat and drill through that - it helps prevent chipping. You could probably order the antenna rubber seal and antenna tube for a Pro boat MG29 or BJ29 and use that (should be rather cheap for both pieces). The PB rubber seal has a wide flange face so if you do get any chipping, it would hide most of it ... just another idea.

Thats a real good idea I will look for that, the tape also I didn't think of that. Now I am waiting for a working esc and I will be in business

(A PB dealer that advertises on ebay currently has the Impulse 31 V1's on closeout for $249). I now have 3 PB RTR fiberglass boats and 2 AQ RTR fiberglass boats. Here are my thoughts on the Revolt vs the Impulse 31. Right out of the box, initial inspection revealed that my Impulse had some "quality control issues"; none of my other PB or AQ boats had such issues (the motor was significantly misaligned at an absolutely unbelievable angle which actually had deformed the flexshaft, one of the motor mount screw was "glued in place" and could not be loosened so trying to align the motor was not going to happen, the rx was "stuck" in perpetual bind mode regardless of what you did with it, and right rear corner of the canopy had numerous visible hairline cracks). PB product support, though, was great. They sent me a new flexshaft, new rx, new motor mount with all the screws and a new canopy in less than a week ... I sent them photos of how poorly this boat was assembled. Regarding hulls, I think the PB hull "feels" better built ... the AQ hull seems to have more flex. The Revolt has a better battery tray system (even though it is plastic) and offers the option of one 4s mounted dead center low in the hull, right out of the box. The Impulse battery tray is rather primitive (using a threaded rod and wing nut to secure a "squashplate" style top) and only acccomodates a two battery setup without modification. The PB boat canopy has a retention system whereas the AQ canopy relies soley on taping it on. I think the Revolt has nicer "hard parts" hardware (strut, rudder, turn fins and especially the trim tabs). I think the AQ driveline hardware looks "more refined" and has more adjustability. I like the PB electronics better .... the PB esc is programmable, the AQ esc is not, and per many comments on the Revolt forum, the lvc on the AQ esc is too low (2.8V) such that if you don't time your runs, you can ruin your batteries rather "unknowingly". The PB lvc is very obvious, and set to a better voltage (3.0 or 3.2 ... don't remember for sure). I bought an entire PB (Mystic) esc and motor (new) setup as well as a Spektrum tx/rx and I am going to install them in my Revolt (just my personal preference). Both have 60A esc's and 1800kv motors with similar metal props and similar rudder systems right out of the box.

I know, long post, but hopefully the detail will be worth the extra time reading.

(A PB dealer that advertises on ebay currently has the Impulse 31 V1's on closeout for $249) --- PB's website says $199, but what-ever.

So other than $150~200, what's the diff between the V1 and V2 boats other than the V2's gaudy graphics??

I'm looking at the pix on PB's site, transom hardware looks the same. Only diff I see is the V2's use the "new" Dynamite ESC & motor - don't know if that's a good or bad thing??

If I did get one of those V1's off ebay, would you be interested in buying the ESC?? I'd also be selling the radio system, I agree with lenny about the tactic systems.

                    Thanks

IP 26 No - IP 31 Yes (V1)... http://www.proboatmodels.com/Product...ProdID=PRB4250 -- BUT, HH is out of them, so that price is misleading unless some shop / dealer has old stock available for sale.

This place has V1's for $250.... http://www.ebay.com/itm/Pro-Boat-Imp...90818463130%26 -- That's where Bob_T got his - read his post, went to eBay, put 2 + 2 together -- hope that clears up any confusion I caused.

I started searching this forum for info on the IP31's last night and found this thread... http://forums.offshoreelectrics.com/...or-220-shiiped -- All the issues Bob talks about in this thread (post #29) can be found in detail in that thread with pix.

I asked bout the diffs between V1 & V2 other than paint scheme. ANS: I think the Dynamite esc is rated for higher amps and the esc has an extra switch to go between nimh and lipo without having to use a programming card.

For the $150 savings, my vote is the V1, since it has the 1800kv just like the V2 -- so I just got a V1 from that vendor - my first "real boat" just hope I don't experience the same issues as bob did

Other boat is PB Mini-V that I got for $30 w/out radio. Couldn't get the stock 4-wire servo to work, so replaced it with Turnigy MG90S. Had a spare TRX XL-5 w/LVD, Titan 380 is on order, then need to get some smaill 2S 1300mAh LiPo's and hopefully I'll have a little pond rocket.

Even though my boat had some obvious "quality control issues" at very first inspection (still baffles me how someone could have put it in the box that way thinking it would NOT cause a problem), PB customer support was quick to remedy the problems without any hassle (and I am grateful for that!). I hope your new Impulse 31 is really RTR right out of the box! Not too long ago, I also saw the $199 price on HH's website so I called HH (to potentially buy another one ) .... they were out of stock and not getting anymore in. The other ones' advertised at $249 now have free shipping ... when I ordered mine, they were not offering free shipping, so now there is even a little more saving!

                          Enjoy your new boat!

PS .... I just ran mine for the first time tonight and oh boy, it makes my local pond seem really small.

Bob - Thanks for everything, didn't know the free ship was new, was that way when I found the listing, got free ship on the one I got.

Nice to know that IF my boat has QC issues that HH will be there to help out.
