Would be a hoot! I like cheap restricted "classes" Where we run bigger is better though, used to host a really big nitro race where we run. More than enough room to let the fastest boats fly!
If my boats upside down then who owns the one I thought I was driving the last two laps?

Ray, don't get me worng,,,if this would get people to participate in any body of water within a decent drive, I'm all for it. Hell, I'll even build one to run and show up where ever...I don't care about club affiliations (or non club) etc. But think about all the times we organize things and tell people bring what you got, and we'll run it as a class if some show up...nothing but crickets chirping......

Texas is too far of a drive.

Tell me where they are, when they run and I'll have one ready to run in a few weeks when the ice clears. Humber bay works for me as well.

John, I'm sorry but, if you want to really talk about who is running where you should call me or try some communicating with other clubs/ club members in Southern Ontario. Just pick up the phone and call.

I was just trying to chat up the technical aspects and see what our fellow boaters are doing down south etc...

I do recall showing up to one of the last scheduled dates for GRMM and I was the only one that showed up. I guess I missed that you all went to Michigan, oh well, I had fun anyway.

I can get a dozen boaters to come to a fun run on the right day. But try to same guys to a race if they have never raced and it is like pulling teeth!

A class that isn't exciting wont get more people involved.

We did 2s1p N2 Sportys with 5200kv or less S sized motors for a couple seasons. They are fun but a winning setup is too complicated for any new guy to have any hope of competing. My N2 had a ball bearing wire drive that had zero friction.

I'm a sport monkey too Ray but it wont take off. Sure you'll get guys that like the idea and the challenge but they'll be scattered all over the place. Been there done that. We even tried it on brushed car motors and 6NiMh back in 2004 (I think). First time I saw Reesor ask for a mercy minute. In that minute he soldered up a new motor and installed it......................because Neil melted the endbell of the last one.

I hear you Terry. I had a hull and sold it but, I have a Whip 27" I'm tinkering with. I'll do the azz end like your whip40 and maybe cut an inch or two off the end.

Chris is all for the idea and a spec prop as well but, it is to be seen. I know if I have one, Chris and it would not take much to get Ralph V. to reconfigure his 24" H&M to what Chris and I TALKED about on the PHONE.

I'm sure it would not be hard to get Ralph out if he knew he could just charge up his 24" hydro with a 7L he already owns to a pond closer to him. He and I like Church on Sunday mornings so Saturdays are not a bad idea or even summer evenings, it's all good fun.

Sometimes a phone call gets a lot more done than any emails. That's 3 amigo's, that's a class. Others have these hulls on a shelf or collecting dust and since large water is a high commodity in my area, why not? Humber Bay can't even hold an LSH race because it's too small. Sometimes people don't chime in here and they just pm me saying hey, not a bad idea.

Chris and I were thinking one or two props to choose from, maybe Graupner or the CNC aluminum ones from Steve or HK.

Again, just club racing. It's better than staring at a bunch of big boats on a shelf that have no place to run and/or no full size retrieval boat to rescue them. It's not hard to rescue a 24" hull with another boat or fishing rod on small water.

Chris liked this $27 motor for 4s1p: 2100kv

                  I liked this $20 motor for 2s1p: 3900kv

I'm not trying to start a new class for IMPBA or NAMBA, I'm trying to get people out that have the boats just collecting dust.

I floated between a Feigeo 6s and a Lehner 5000XL. Boat was fast really. I won N2 Sport at the NATS in 06 with that setup in a Viper. Just missed O Sport to Wilmer with the same boat and a smaller prop.

If your trying to get guys to run that already own the boats then go for it. Just don't expect too many new guys to pick it up. As simple as the concept seems to us it simply will be inconcievable to guys that don't already race or build. When we were running our N2 Sports I had a guy that broughta moter to the pond that thought he was buying the right thing for the class. The motor was about the size of a pager motor but the KV was dead on. He should have known and didn't.

Ray back to this little motor I just got it and I am going to test it this week. The water cooler form the SV27 fitted on it.

Cool Randy. At least you have soft water to test it. Up here my local flood control pond still has a large layer of ice on it.

I've got one of those coming too so go giv'er hell and see how it pans out. I've got about 4 coolers that will fit on them, just kept them in case.

It is a curse some times to have such a short winter and a blessing other times. We have had two of our district points races all ready. I still have a lot of my winter work to do and it is spring. LOL
Any way It will be fun to see what this little motor will do. I have a Barracuda 80 that I am running this boat with and I am going to add a cap bank on to the ESC to make it more fun. I might get another one of these motors and run them in a twin set up. I can afford this cost of motor.

I'm glad we got more snow & rain this winter than the past 2 years. Last year I could barely grow anything in my garden but green & yellow beans; not enough nitrogen I was told by local farmers. All the local veggies were really small last summer. Today, April FOOL! We get a dose of more snow after it almost all melted. ARGH!!!

If things work out after I replace my radiator ( I'm getting sick of car repairs...) then I was thinking a pair of these in my Geico hull would be a nice and cheap twin build. Unfortunately I'm ordering a rad tomorrow... Fun job as I've researched....
