Also, I prefer to use multiple layers of thine material, than 1 layer of something thick. This is because with multiple layers, you can alternate the directions of the fiber. like a 0/90deg layer, then a 45/45 layer. This will achieve strength in multiple directions.

Would like to ad for the perfectionists among us, the correct way for composite lay-up in multiple layers is to always create a symetrical laminate, in other words from the first layer to the centre, is a mirror image from the centre to top layer. In your example the thick layer should be covered on both sides by equal amounts of thin layers.

Don't use Teflon coated Peel ply if you want epoxy motor mount, servo ect., use regular peel Ply.
Teflon contaminates the surface and willinhibitt future bonding.

You are correct about tghe symetery, This is more important when making a new structure than reienforcing an existing structure

jcald2000, Great point!! I have never used PTFE peel ply. Glad I havn't!
