Funny, I just went through removing the stuff from the nose of a 29" mono last night, terrible job trying to fit your hand in there with various implements to dig and scrape with.
I was surprised by the weight of the foam I pulled out. No idea what kind of foam, 2nd hand hull. Twice I've had to dig the stuff out of a hull now.
If my boats upside down then who owns the one I thought I was driving the last two laps?

For the most part though luckily my boats don't take on any water (knocks on wood). Would this help extend the life of the foam? Other than the heat from the sun being a factor? Thanks for any tips.
Many boats take on minor water and drying between use helps. If foam is open to all but one side that is better but most like pour foam as it gets into small spaces. And water will follow is all I am saying. For most not critical. I use pieces of Shamwow in radio boxes as secondary protection. It will stop a lot of moisture. In a closed hull excess moisture becomes vapor with heat from batteries, motors and esc's. Dryer the better IMO. I have also used IV bags filled with air in some areas for floatation.
