What did you guys do about the getting the water line on the smaller tubing on the x-powers cooling plate? Epoxy a larger tube because, solder does not bond to aluminum??? WTH???

I have a coule rolls of tubing that seems like a good size for cooling and it fits the lines well. If you need it I could pick you up some. its like 2bucks for 3 feet. The large ose sell dont fit thats for sure. -
No It does not fit. The thing Is all the other thru hull fittings and water jacket fittings need that size water line but, the cooling plate tubes are just to small. It's like metric vs standard... Now I have to go and get smaller line and force It on a coupler...

Yup thats what I did. Wound up using nitro fuel line. I used silicon shock oil to slip on the fuel line.Comment

I boil some water and dip the small tube in it for a min. It strecthes nice and shrinks back when cool.Comment

one could make an adapter...example take 1" of 1/8" brass and 1/2" of 5/32" brass, solder the 5/32" onto the 1/8"(so that you have a 1/2" of 1/8"&1/2" of 5/32"(stick the medium hose on the 1/8" and the large hose onto the 5/32")). hth

If you dont have access to smaller tube, use the tube you have then use a mini starp tie/pull tie on the cooling tube. Thats what i did and it works, pull them tight though.Comment

Wow i didnt know i would get burnt for suggesting something that works on my boat and didnt work for yours. I posted my expeirence so others would not try this from reading this thread. There needs to be an adapter used for smaller line. I can't see using smaller line throughout the build, just for the x-power esc.

Don't let tensions run high guys i was just defending my solution, I take it back an was not refering to a specific memeber.
Sorry for your loss Stealth, but i think a smaller tube still would'nt have given enough cooling to that ESC. Which setup are you running? Even if your tube leaked a lil your esc should not have gotten that hot on a second lap. Are you over proping your electronics? well i now regret posting that solution, but it did work on mine no leaks and keeps it cool. Please be positive that is was a cooloing issue and not over voltage to the esc or over porping which will cause high temps on you motor, esc and batteries.
