Anyway of getting a true amp read without some kind of logger?
True Amp read?

What do you mean by "true amp read"? You can estimate the average amp draw by timing your run with a stopwatch and then measuring the mAh you put back into the pack. Then input the data into the "Estimate Amp Draw" spreadsheet below. To obtain the most accurate data, run full throttle with minimum low throttle, otherwise the low throttle time will drop the average. This just gives the average, not the peak.

ya i did that but it seems low to me. I ran for 2 1/2 minutes and used 2600mah...comes out 61 amps. Seems a little low for the setup. Im running a 2000kv leo 4s 5000 45c nanotechs with a m445 prop and a seaking120. If you saw my other post i had some smoke from something for a second or two but nothing was hot....it was weird. It was the very first run on all the new equipment. Everything works fine still not sure what it was. Some people are saying the esc is to small...what u think?

Did you check your drive shaft for heat yet?Originally posted by mikeochs View Postya i did that but it seems low to me. I ran for 2 1/2 minutes and used 2600mah...comes out 61 amps. How much of the running was at full throttle? Remember this is the average amp draw for the entire time. The best way to do this is to take off from the beach and run WOT all the time until you are almost back. I have found this method can come reasonably close to what I datalog (but always lower) for racing, not so much for just goofing around. Are you certain that your charger is bringing the packs back to full charge consistently? Checking the resting voltage after a charge can help to tell. You also need to be accurate in the time measurement.ya i did that but it seems low to me. I ran for 2 1/2 minutes and used 2600mah...comes out 61 amps. Seems a little low for the setup....
