    Anomynous smoke?

Today i finally was able to run the new setup in my MC. I am now running a leo 4074 2000kv and a seaking 120 with 2s 5000 45 -95c x2 in series. My prop is a tuned m445. My first impression was holysh....t!!!!. It was incredibly quick out of the hole and a easy 54-57 somewhere in the vicinity. One provlem though, after a quick 1-2 minutes i brought it back in and when i took off the hatch there was a quick little cloud of smoke. not sure where it came from so i unplugged and looked everything ocer and nothin was hotand all still worked when i plugged it back in. I did notice and actuallt smelled like electrical smoke from the rx. Its still working so im not sure what happened. Do you guys think the m445 is to big. One thing the boat did do was torque hard to the right. Its trying to go right under hard acceleration. Any thoughts on this please

Did you use oil on the motor bearings?

My first thought is the Seaking 120 is the weak link in that set up. I don't think it's going to last very long. A 180 would be a much better match.

really you think it is to weak, I dont think it is pulling much more than 100 and no i didnt use any oil. None of the components were even close to being hot. Ill prop down a bit and try it again and ill put a little shot of oil in the bearing

120 won't last with that setup. after a solid 6 laps WOT it'll be toast

Just a little knowledge to share
the ampere is a measure of the amount of electric charge passing a point in an electric circuit per unit time

If it was still working fine, if youd put some water tube around the stuffing tube and collet it could have been that.

The white foggy smoke in most cases is silicon tube.

Don't oil, sometimes certain oils like 3in1 can cause a small puff of smoke.

Use a thrust bearing. Without it all the thrust goes onto the rear bearing. Especially on the cheaper motors. I swear that smoke is baked bearing oil.

Next time, put your fingers on the drive shaft. Sometimes you can get a super hot drive shaft caused by too much friction and the smoke is the grease burning up in the shaft.

I should clarify, using appropriate bearing oil is good from time to time.

I have run several brushless motors many, many times without ever oiling without issue
