Does anyone power their bec with the lipo balance plug?

I started powering my bec regulator with the balance plug out of my lipo, no extra battery needed.

Yes, it's a common practice, but be sure to run the BEC off the total pack voltage. You can run into problems if you try to split off cells to power the BEC. Always use the same pack ground wire as connected to your ESC.
