i like the look of the sprintcat as well. some dont. matter of taste i guess, but it is a sick performer…. not sure but two 6s shouldnt be a problem...

Still looking at the Sprint Cat. This appears to be a gas hull. Looks like turbine canopy is open for exhaust pipe. Is everything else ok for FE or do there have to be other modifications. Is the turbine opening just closed off with CF or light ply?

Now that my DF Pirate is on the water I am revisiting this thread. The SprintCat seems to have limited availability and it shows that it is pretty heavy any other suggestions on a good cat for single drive 4092, 6s setup?

I think the Fighter Cat Fantasm is probably the best all around hull out there. It takes corners well, and can do straight line well...plus, it looks nice.
The DF Explorer can be ran fast in a straight line, but it's totally inept when it comes to cornering. I definitely wouldn't recomend it as a sport boat unless you are just looking for straight line speed. If you are doing ovals you will be retreiving it often.

I like HV, but you could do it on LV quite easily as well. The hull airs out quite nicely. I'm running on with twin seaking 120s right now on LV and going faster than most of the boats on this forum.
I built one for a customer with a 4092 that's running 63mph at around 100 degree temps, and has the potential to run over 70mph.

That's excellent speed, is that on 6s. Cats must run faster than the mono,s. or is that twinn 4092?

Keith I am real interested to see how that turns with a single motor in it. I am thinking about a Castle 2028 setup in the hull on 10s.

Talk about stupid power............that thing would really scoot although you will need prop to make it really go since it is limited to 10s which is only 30,000 rpms unloaded..........gonna need quite a bit of prop..... Something in the x648, x455/3 or s235/s240 range may be the ticket............

Way too big Raydee. The hull is too small for that motor. A 1717 or 1520/4092/1527 would be plenty. The Fantasm is larger than something like a genesis or apparition, but it's not as big as you're thinking. The 43" Aeromarine Conquest I have here is only 43", but the difference in overall hull size between the two is staggering. The Conquest I could easily fit twin 2028s in, the Fantasm looks silly with one...I'm not even sure it would clear the hatch.

Its hard to believe that a 1527 will power a 41" hull, I run those motors on my 36"-37" hulls. How are you mounting the lipo's in the sponsons?

It depends on what your 36"-37" hulls are. I think the Fantasm takes less to power it than the Cheetah, which is only 34" but has a wider beam and deeper sponsons. I guess the question would be: How fast do you want to go? If it's not more than 70mph, the 1527 should be able to get you there.

I have had some customers request battery trays, and I have done a couple of versions, but to be honest I prefer using pool noodle the length of the sponsons cut out to fit the lipos...that's what I do in my own hull, because there's nothing to break/tear away in a crash.
