PS. I've googled Cg vs CG... Old man, I don't know what you are on about :) Explain your wisdom please :D

I'm using ply in the bottom, it should be strong enough to stiffen the boat up
I'm probably going to put down a layer of 6oz fibreglass where the motor is, I just have to check if I have any resin...

I received my water cooled motor mount as well as the water cooling jacket for the motor.
I mocked everything up, and I think it's going to fit very nice and snug in there

A picture is worth a thousand words :p

I'm going to run this thing on 3S, make that 3S1P to clarify :)
So I'll mount the motor further to the back

I was told to run my own BEC battery (by someone) what is the reason for this? or is it just to give more balance options?

Cheers

I have to confess, I've been using the most dire tools you could imagine... some odd examples LOL :) a normal wood saw!!! a broken metal file!!! a cheap dremmel.... but the sand paper has been my friend

Sure you will hah. Mine is almost finished in filling holes, now I need to get the dremel out and cut some wood or plastic

I'm hoping for some better handling at higher speeds

That looks nice. That stinger/ rudder really sit out far. Yours will handle better than mine for sure.

I got a bit more done on the boat, the paint is pretty much done, sanding in between layers of paint gives a great result... It really is all in the prep :)
The only thing missing are all the red accents, which I'll do tomorrow, when I DARE molest the fresh paint with masking tape...
Sorta made a boo boo on the hatch already... it will get redone, I'll see if I can be bothered doing today, if not, it might wait a little :p
I kinda gotta figure out what the Volvo boat has in blue underneath the wing... And I may need to see if I can head down to the local Volvo dealer and get a few stickers Nothing looks better than a good paint job and cool stickers

You'll also notice some nice new hardware bits :) Curtesy of Boat Bitz SA, 1 day to get to my place! Gotta love buying inside your own country instead of China or the US to Australia :)

well, that's about it, I'm waiting on the motor, mount, water cooling bits, servo rod, drive shaft adapter etc etc

enjoy the pics :)

First few layers of paint, all over the top of the boat
A bit of filth
Finish is coming up now
I'm not sure how much I'll polish the paint up underneath, it holds a pretty near mirror finish... I might give it some carnuba wax as a test later on when I've bought my GPS, so I can see if it makes ANY difference :p
Not planning in changing where my motor is mounted, just changing how its mounted and I'm going to reinforce and stiffen the boat more and try to get more room for electroncs

damn... here's the blue colour... It's a model boat, but with a 26CC petrol motor... MMMMMMM
Stop dreaming... :)

It shows the right colours for the blue, I'll probably do something like that, but it might be in the second incarnation of my boat (e.g. when I rebuild it next around)
