I would like to know how fast (or slow) my boat (Revolt 30) is running. What brand GPS devices are you guys having good luck with? I don't need anything fancy, would just like to know mph. Small and lightweight is a must.

Hobbyking GPS or Voltron. I have the HK version and have no issues with it other than price seems high for a HK brand.42" Osprey, 32" Pursuit, 26" Bling Rocket (rescue), Blizzard Rigger, JAE 21FE rigger, Hobby King rigger (RIP)

If you have an iPhone you can get a free app for mph recording and if your worried about getting it wet you can get waterproof cases cheap.

I've made several passes with my 1/8 scale car carrying both the HK GPS and a Garmin, from 35mph to 100mph. Readings were consistant between the two devices each time.Originally posted by Basstronics View PostHobbyking GPS or Voltron. How are your batteries? After less than 2 seasons of logging and testing my mid grade packs are dropping a volt more under load than high end batteries the exact same age. Makes a noticeable difference in speed being down a couple thousand rpm.If my boats upside down then who owns the one I thought I was driving the last two laps?

SkyRC makes that unit. Looks good. I went to SkyRC website and all their dealers (3) don't seem to carry them. So maybe the unit is discontinued or garbage?Originally posted by 100 mph jet boat View PostRevolt 30, SuperMonoX, NQD "Tear Into"

I like the simplicity of these units. The HK gps is backordered of course. I don't like the fact that I have to plug in to the rx, (I have the rx nice and snug in a balloon which means tearing it all apart and re-sealing.)Originally posted by Basstronics View PostHobbyking GPS or Voltron. The Voltron is available @ Grayson hobby which I have heard horror stories about their service.

Hk units is light and tiny so can be acommodated in small boats and have worked good for me.Also the Garmin etrex is a good option for larger boats but Eagle tree is what I would suggest too. GillGO FAST AND TURN RIGHT !
