Define "big"? I use the Castle bank with 4 caps on it, do you mean bigger?Originally posted by grsboats View PostKevin I would suggest to use a big capbank....it solved all issues with my Castles.Gill
Edit: Just soldered together (6) 65v/470uf caps, tripling what the castle bank had.Last edited by kevinpratt823; 08-12-2013, 05:35 PM.My private off road rc track

I had that in my cart, but then I realized I had a whole bag of 470uf's. I may pick that one up at some point though, how does it solder on by the way? It looks like it has half circles cut, do they fit over the wire so it lays down on it's side?Originally posted by grsboats View PostKevin I'm using the Etti saw capbank 63V 5000uf.GillMy private off road rc track

Keith, i have a 32 river cat with a castle 1515 1y. Running two max amps 4s 4000 mah parallel. Sport boating only. Bought a new castle hydra 240 but it doesnt fit where i need it too. Any ideas for 180-200 amp quality esc with a low fit profile?

SF240HV+ with added caps went poof 2 min into the first run...........
Got an SF300HV Pro + today and put it in for a quick test with the same setup. First of all, it is frustrating to wire/rig up, wires are real short, coming out the bottom, with dual leads for pos/neg, which have to be connected in paralell externally anyhow. Pics show my quick wire solder job to get her in the boat. Soldered a #12 jumping leads together while feeding it through a ETTI 5000uf cap bank, and the whole unit just tucks in next to the rail, upside down, with wires coming out from the top.
After calibrating it and running for 3 min, data logging shows 157 amps max(very low), and under 25,000rpm, and only shows 82% throttle input, but I was pinned most of the run, it ran a modest 53.9mph on gps.......
Has anybody noticed this issue?
I always thought she had more revs left in her, even with other controllers, so next time, I am going to calibrate at 100% travel on the TX(as I always do), then try cranking it up to 125% and see if it will rev higher and record full throttle.
Again, this is a 45" Sniper on 10s2p, Castle 2028, X460/3........
I appreciate any experienced input!

You will have to increase the throttle range on some transmitters. I have my DX4S on 150%.Originally posted by kevinpratt823 View PostSF240HV+ with added caps went poof 2 min into the first run...........

Thanks Rocstar. Do you mean to increase it before calibrating, or after? I appreciate the input.Originally posted by Rocstar22 View PostYou will have to increase the throttle range on some transmitters. I have my DX4S on 150%.My private off road rc track

I've done it both ways and hit 100% throttle on the logs each time.Originally posted by kevinpratt823 View PostThanks Rocstar. Do you mean to increase it before calibrating, or after? I appreciate the input."There's nothing else I really want to do other than get up and build boats." - Mike Fiore

Not if you use one of these.
