I bet the affect gets more exaggerated starting at about 65mph..

Yes, they have little effect below that speed. But by 80 mph you can see the effect of screwing them up or down quite easily. Not all cats need them even at that speed, but they did help the SC.

Great to know! I like that a lot better than disturbing the air entering the tunnel (air dam) or dragging it down with wet trim tabs..

Re-Read my post, Not "disturbing" the air with a properly placed air dam, but "limiting" the air.
In my opinion, with a cat if you have to limit the air, its a design flaw/speed wall of the hull.

Fluid's solution may very well eventually work its way up o full scale boats.
From working extensively with a few cats it sounds like the perfect solution to a SAW cat.

Lets face it, in heat racing cats rarely "blow off", its in a SAW app. The simple solution is to move the weight forward, the next is neg in the strut, the extreme is trim tabs on a cat ALL of which can cause a cat to dive/stuff.
The air assisted downforce isn't so physical or violent because the force relieves itself.

Your gas guzzler would be great if it guzzled 87oct Mobil 100% gas with Honda hp2 oil . Don't know sh!t about batteries but my sprintcats GAS go 84mph and my best 2 way was 88.6 mph . Don't know if I can help with the electric set up but I might can help with getting it to go straight and CGI'm building this one and here's one I built a few months ago this one has gone best 2 way 88+ mph and went 87.2 with a prop I modded so GAS guzzlers I know electric well I'm learning lol

34.5" is a standard SprintCat even though it's advertised as 36".

a single pack 6S45C5000+ fed 2xSF240HV to 2xCC1518/1800 to 3/16LR to X447LR(DT, S+B)
3/16 Propshafts are 1/8 up from ride pads, parallel , on 3" roller mono stingers.. 5" rudder at 4" behind transom
CG at 35%, stops power driven up+overs...
good 2+1/2 mins wot.

originally built for 6S2P.. but in Australia that is now the 12S class..
EA, 4 cells in any conbination or configuration... 4S1P, 2S2P, 1S4P etc
EB = 6S as above
EC = 12S as above
as EC it could not compete at 75ish mph again the 12S single motor cats.
so it became 6S1P, and better !
