They call it "shelved"... They just didn't sell that well. Too much of a "niche" boat, I think. A little too heavy for competition... a little too tricky to drive/tune for the average boater.

I would love to be able to get my hands on a set of the molds so I could get one laid up with epoxy resin...

The new 1800kv dynamite motor is it still "hot" like the first pb1800? That motor seemed to pull more amps then I that it would, less torque w/ more pep it seemed. Maybe that's just me.

I agree... The 1800KV motors from the Mystic/IM31, with the "1800KV" stamped on the endbell, seem to be better motors. The new Dynamite motors have shown to be good motors as well.

There are some design differences between the Pro Boat and the AQ motors that give slightly different advantages in different aspects of the power range/applications. I've dissected and studied all of these motors, so I have a pretty good idea on the strengths and weaknesses of each.

One thing that is interesting is that, although the AQ motors are listed and measure out to be 56mm (36-56-XXXX) vs the PB motors being 50 (36-50-XXXX), the internals, Stator and Rotor, length-wise, are identical. The AQ motors just have a longer can. It's the relationship of the rotor sizes to the stator, the air-gaps, and the magnet strength, that differs. One of these days, I may go further and tear apart the winds to see what the actual wiring difference is.

I think either can be competitive, if paired with the appropriate application...

I believe I had a 1800 from a Stilleto I don't remember the 1800 stamped. Been awhile though.

I find it odd the BJ29 is listed $20 higher then the IM31V2 yet have the same power. New hardware raising the price? PB/HH thinking of offering BnD or PnP versions of these new models?

Would love to get my hands on the new BJ29, a PnP would be more appealing or at least the BnD. Us old timers don't need another radio collecting dust. This is the first rtr I "plan" on only running stock. :rolleyes:
In the video it seems the bj29 doesn't have the mg/mystic bounce.

I really don't have any idea how they come up with the Price-Points... Apparently they have their methods... I do know that manufacturing costs in China are going up. Probably a good idea to get used to that...

Yea I read that and seen some of the "protesting" I guess on wages. You can only pay your people in pennies for so long. I do think its odd China is still considered "undeveloped". I think they purposely pay peanuts to keep the national med income levels down, that allows them (as a country) to get away without following certain enviromental laws (gotta stop global warming :rolleyes: that "developed" countries have to follow. Not the time or thread for all that talk though. Your right though, we (as a nation) gotta get use to it.

Yea scares all of us. I was told by a HH rep that they're trying not to offer so many different options because of keeping stock of different options for the same products is pricey. This was asked on why HH wasn't offering pnp models anymore or certain items (plane side). They have BnF Basic on the plane side. Helps I suppose. Maybe they'll offer the same on these (praying)...

I think they might be eliminating the Registered Mail system too (China). It's either by guppy mail or EMS in some cases I've seen like HK.

Differences in current draw shouldn't be much of a factor given (at least in NAMBA P-Ltd classes) you're allowed to carry up to 10K mAh on board for an (approximately) 3 minute run.

agreed. My 2 favorite spec motors (even though I don't race) are the aq2030 and the pb1500. That pb1500 is a freaking torque monster. To many "newbies" only see the kv rating and get scared away from it, young guys love retarded rpms... but when propped correctly that freaking 1500 is a beast.

Need to test for the best prop; will run the offshore course this week to find out. With more turns than the oval sprint course, pulling out of the tight turns will be critical. Starting out with a radically cut down X447/3 but
