Any threads on this boat? Getting in electric boats for the first time have a miss budweiser nitro but tired of the hassle for such slow speeds. Any help or suggestions on this boat please all are welcome.

Are you after a ready to run or build your own ?. There is a fair few builds in the build thread, also under the name 37" daytona.
If wanting to build your own try fighter cat racing, he sells the hull and every thing you need to build it up. Plus he is in florida.

Thanks just registered at fighter cat. Really want a rtr. Not to keen on these new lipo setups. Will be asking alot of questions on this forum. I know the old adage but I want something big and the Genesis and the Spartan are the only boats that are over 40 inches. And I haven't heard anything good on the Spartan. Found the Genesis while surfing and seems like a great deal for the price. Just don't won't to waste my time and money on my first boat and end up giving up.

Its a good hull. The motor i am not sure on but it needs a better esc than quoted. look at there turnigy 180 amp.
As for batteries,lipos can be dangerous but so can nimh if abused. never had a problem myself,but i treat them good.

Oh both websites quoted over 40 inches. Maybe that's from the tip to the rudder. Also looked at the miss geico and motley crew but they just seem to small. Any other options are welcome.

Buy the Genesis, run it till it blows up, which wont take long, then ask questions as to what upgrades would suit you best. Sounds ignorant, but not meant that way. Typically FE boats are measured from tip to transom, for future reference. The Genesis is 37" in length.

If you want a decent rtr there is a few guys who build boats up. not sure what they charge for a basic build,but getting a nice layer of carbon fiber added to some of these fairly thin hulls is worth while.

Thanks guys for all the advice. I think I might start with cat racing and go from there. I'm looking for 50+ out of the boat. With some help with a local race shop cmd racing here in town I got the little nitro boat running 40+ on a slick lake. But that seems so slow. A friend has a outrigger from Cmd racing that just flies around 90+. But not willing to deal with nitro anymore and electric has come leaps and bound over the last couple of years. Might sell the little Bud to fund my new boat. Anyone know if anyone has converted one of these to electric with success?

Bailey, it is true the Genesis hull is only 37 inches long, the hardware makes it just over 40 inches over all. The Motley Crew and the Miss Geico are under 30 inches inches in length but almost as wide as the Genesis.

I thought the MC would be a bit small for my liking too. It's certainly not a Huge boat. But after running it I am very, very happy with it for my first FE. It is capable of some pretty impressive speed and mine handles fabulously.
Ozzie, I am "in talks" with KB over at FighterCat about doing up my Motley, giving it the Keith Bradley treatment. Should be interesting.
