Not alone today,
I fried my esc in my mono after a few minutes of testing. The exit cooling hose came off the barb of the cooling jacket. After running for 2
minutes the boat was full of water. Took off the hatch and the esc was smoking. Time to order a new esc. Never had a hose separate like
this before. Does anyone use a ziptie or clamps to prevent this? Thanks

yes steve here on ose has the barb clips as well as kintec racing..the model company "great planes" makes them or rebrands them if you search on ose you will find them...i use them on most of my builds when i think there may be a problem hose.they do work slick..small zip ties work but the clips hold better

you may be able to find something similar at your local hardware store too...i have aubuchon hardware in my area and you would be amazed at all the stuff you can use on your boats from a hardware store..i like going there just to try to problem solve

Maybe it's time for another "boneheaded stunts" thread. I had a boat that I repeatedly would forget to hook up one of the cooling lines. I had to disconnect a line to put batteries in it. One time I ran out fully clothed into late October water up to my waist to save it. Boneheaded stunt number 213.

does anyone put silicone around the lip of the water jacket and the motor? it would act as a seperate seal besides what the orings provide..it may not look neat in appearence but it may provide a backup seal just in case of oring failure...i do not even know if it would work well though

For a neat look with silicone, mask off the area around the joint and peel tape when the silicone begins to cure. SealAll is "watery" as it flows out so it's a little harder to neatly apply, but it dries right away, and has many uses in a pinch. Will seal just about anything.
