88 amps cont. for 50 seconds above 2.0V, beats A123 hands down. Something to think about for sport running 3.2V per cell. At 260 seconds at 32 amps.
$11 per loose cell, can be solder on easily with no damge!

Jay T posted a link on the red board to a few sites. One of them had BK Bandit XL video on these cells. I am not sure of the exact number of cells but the packs looked to be over 15 cells per side. The boat was a ROCKET!!!!!!! I will see of I can find and post it. What are the charging requirments & weight?

I have been charging by K2 cells with an Astro A123 charger. I can't see a difference in performance with a slow 2.5AH charge vs. 5.0AH rate. So, you can charge them fast.

I am also testing a 3200mah cell for 25 amps and lower.

My thoughts are Flat LiFePo4 should be around in 2008. I am seeing them now in some place.

NAMBA and the IMPBA should ban LiPoly once these arrive in my opinion, but they won't.

J/C that is sweet boat setup. These cells are sweet too. Nice price for what they are. Are those specs you posted per cell Steve? So they could be stacked for a little higher amperage? keep us posted...Please!

Im pretty sure that would cover a broad spectrum of our setups. I am very intrigued specially cause of the safety. Just between the two of us I am TIRED of treating my batterys like time bombs. Id be interested in a couple 5 cell packs if they infact can be charged with common LiPo/NiMH charger.

I am not sure on the common LiPoly charger yet, it does say that they can be charged to 4.2V, I have tested them at the normal 3.6V for LiFePO4. Most LiPoly chargers now offer the LiFEPO4 option.

Oh, I get it now....I have not idea when they will arrive on the scene and it's depends on what you need in a boat. Flat as in pouch cells like LiPoly.

I am also watching with interest the development of LiFePo4/A123 type cells.
They are so much safer and user friendly.
I am only now reluctantly 'upgrading' some of my boats to lipo simply because I need to keep up, (If you can't beat em, join em).
You can't help being nervous about a product that comes with pages of do and don't warnings, must never be exposed to water, and must be removed from the model and watched constantly while being charged.
The Hyperion Duo charger I have just ordered from OSE has a LiFePo4/A123 mode which I hope will be very useful in the future.
