Nice, but i dont like the water pick up in front of the prop. maybe you could extend the cav plate and put the pick up just behind the prop for better forced cooling. If you were to run the motor high, not sure if that pick up would still be in the water. But for $90 with a can..... what a bargin!
I do like the water cooled mount also, and you could still run a jacket around an inrunner for extra cooling. plus being alloy, it would pull alot more heat out of the motor than your carbon/plastic outboards going for approx. the same price with no motor.....
Thanks Iamandrew, can see myself putting one of these on my F1 tunnel when i decide to upgrade my set up. 2012-02-23 19.06.37.jpg
Don't know if I like how the motor mount plate is supported by two legs on the back side only, could see that flexing with the weight of the motor and pounding of the boat at speed. Would have been easy to support it on all 4 corners.
Also be nice to know if it uses available stub shafts and flexes. No info at all about spare parts. LOL could end up as a 90$ paper weight!
Think I'll stick with outboards I know I can get parts for from a number of retailers.
If my boats upside down then who owns the one I thought I was driving the last two laps?
theres a lot of small tunnel hull cats around that this would fit on.
I guess the big carbon plate can stop some of the wash from going up on the motor and can plane at 5 knots hahaha
yeah ive bought from HOR a few times, unfortunately sometimes things have been missing from the order, or the wrong part was sent.
E,g, motor with 8mm shaft, a 3/16 drive shaft, yet a 8mm to 1/4 collet was sent.
He sells a lot of TFL looking stuff , so the outboard leg might be from some other hull setup.
usually gets about 2 week shipping time.
