what about the finish on the propellers?

I have heard that people polish them, but to what degree? Do you use a 220, 300, 400 etc. grade paper or grit?

I finish at 400 grit unless folks want them polished (at extra cost).

I have a rock tumbler and thought I might be able to use that. I would have to experiment and see if more than one prop in the tumbler would damage the other. The grit for the tumbler is only listed as coarse (80 grit), fine, pre-polish, and polish. I don't think I would use anything other than the "fine."

Why is that Diego? did you come back in the morning to find you had gained some copper coloured grit as well as the grey stuff but someone had broken in and stolen the prop overnight, or did it just dull all the sharp edges you had filed?

I have wondered about that myself because of the aquacraft props which come polished but not sharp or ballanced, I assumed that they were tumbled because if you were employing enough people to polish them on wheels, why wouldn't you give a few extra training and belts so you could sell sharpened balanced polished props as well for twice the price.

...have read through this thread and YES you can nurse a Lipo back to life. Some chargers do give you this error message if the cells are to low. The trick here is to change the chargers settings to NMHI and allow the charger to charge the lipo until it reaches at least 6volts from memory.

Once the lipo reaches 6v then change the settings on the charger back to lipo and proceed to charge your lipo back upto its target voltage. Its a simple trick and works.

I once left the batteries attached all night to the boat by accident, when I went to charge them, they were so low that the charger wouldn't recognize them..At the time, I was helping build for A123Systems the largest LiPo battery in the world...it was 2MW (2,000,000 watts!) What they would do would discharge on battery and let another recharge it (called seak and source), so I actually connected a good battery to the bad one for 2 seconds, and it juiced up the bad one to half of what the good one was, and it worked! Very dangerous though, I was scared sh*t....
