Paint Jae rigger ?

I was just curious what kind of paint to use on my rigger..This is the first one Ive ever built and I really dont know what primer or paint would be best suited.

as long you use a good primer any enamel will do the job and a nice coat of urethane

Dont know what you have done prior to painting but most give 2 thin coats of epoxy resin or 2 coats of Klass Kote clear to seal the wood. You can either keep this as a natural finish or flatten then paint.

Ohh yes..I have them sealed with 2 coats of z-poxy finishing resin..I just need to know a good primer- paint that will bond to the resin well..

make sure you sand that epoxy almost to nothing before primer

Its already been nailed with 400 and 600 wet..

Check out this site for really great paint. Someone recommended this to me awhile back and I painted my rigger with it. It is sooo much better than the stuff you get at Home Depot etc...

I painted mine with the system from ColoRite:

They have the primer, color and clear topcoat in rattle cans that are all compatible. Only drawback is that you are limited to motorcycle colors...but then I wanted Ducati red...

zpoxy is its own primer. you can sand and paint. if your work needs primer because of imperfections, only do the areas that need it. the more material you put on, the more things can go wrong. keep it simple

No Primer used. Seriously. It covered well and it is all still in good shape after 1 year of running it. Not recommending that you skip the primer as I usually do it, but on this one I just layed it down and it worked fine.

I will say that the yellow to quite a few coats to get a good even color, but it really did go well for a rattle can.
