Do not get the light layup. Get the beefy one with rails, and go with the bigger motor. That boat can handle a 447 and a 645. Remember.. He wants to go at least 60.

Thats why I said to go with the Arc motor. But, like I said, never owned a sprintcat.

Let's see, by reading what sprintkat's postings it sounds like he has 6s not 4s...
And his posted question #12 is a great setup being he has 6s!
Waste of money? Uh no, specially if he has the packs..

Whats a waste? The 40mm motor in a small boat? I think this thread bacame a topic about our own discussion, and not helping the new guy.

Are you looking to get one directly from Aeromarine? If so, I believe there's two layups, regular and electric, with electric being lighter. If you're running on a pond with little/no wind this will not be an issue (electric layup) but if you are planning on "insane" speeds as you quoted the regular with maybe carbon added may be needed. Also make sure to get the .21 rudder and don't shorten it.

Id go with what this guy said. I dont own a SprintCat, but, I think itll work. Plus, I do know Arc motors rock. Way better than a Leopard.

And I also agree. I own and have tried and it's a waste. Or better yet, why not go all out and put a 2028 in it!!

Use the 36-75-1 Arc motor on 6s.

In a hull that small, you will have your hands full with this motor on 6s. You wont need to run 2p. Use two 3s 5000mah 40-50c packs in series. No need for a 40mm motor in that boat. Use a 180 amp speedo and start with an X442. There is your stupid fast, reliable set up in your small hull. Itll be in the 60's with no problem. By the way, you dont need to start multiple threads asking the same questions. Ask em all here.

I would hate to have a 4cl or 6cl in my BMW when the V8 runs awesome all day long and I don't have to push it hard to get upto highway speeds........ etc.

Besides saying mine is bigger than yours, what really does it buy to go bigger? I'm answering the OP's questions based on experience not what I "think" would be best. Would it not be better to put the extra money into say batteries than waste it in a motor that is way more than necessary?

Yep...it was the motor that sucks...not that ESC. That motor has a history.

Had to think about your response, but I meant a 540 size electric motor, not a BBC in a Pinto...although a Chevy is the correct way to power a Ford!

I have some friends that actually did it. Have another that put a Dodge 440 in a Chevy an old truck as well.
