    Problem!!!!

Last summer I picked up a H & M Mono off Ebay nice boat !!!! Now the problem ... now that spring is just around the corner I was getting things ready to go and I screwed up! While watching TV I hook up the power leads wrong & smoked the ESC now I have to replace the ESC. It is powered by a NEU 1515.1D --- will a Hydra 120 handle this motor?

There are no markings or labels on the esc so I need !
We did it with a Bang!

Hmmm.. $ 62.50 for a 200 amp speed control sounds pretty interesting; have you [or anyone] used one ? With what results ?

the 1D are amp hogs because of there winding. and the early hydras had some problems.
hydra 240 if you wanted a castle esc.
that GX200A might work as well

I have used a GX-200 on a Hacker 8XL in a 30" Cat... The esc works smooth, runs cool, but you do have to waterproof it yourself and add cooling! (water or sm. fan).. I have 2 more ordered, and a local friend has ordered 3-4.....

              Hmmmm....

I've been racing 1515 1D motors in all of my O-boats (Sport Hydro and Mono) two seasons ago, and in all my N2 boats for all of last season, including racing at the 2007 "Nats", using Castle Barracuda 125 ESCs (both older and newer designs) and haven't had a single problem... They didn't even get hot...

Must just be lucky I guess...

I would recommend something bigger just for the additional buffer of safety, however, if you are having to buy something anyhow...

I have never heard of anyone running the 1515/1D on 4S???

I am I missing something... The motor is around 4100KV or so right? That would put you at 65000 unloaded RPM???

My understanding is this is "THE" 2S motor to have??

Ray Fuller, Doug Smock, just to name two held the I.M.P.B.A. P-Mono 1/16th mile record running 1515 1D's in mono's on 4s voltage...

Mike Pags recently spoke of trying one in an oval set-up P-Mono as well...

in this day and time folks will try anything...

Cool deal, I did not know that.. Learn something new everyday!
This seems to be the EXTREME side of running the 1515/1D..
What esc's did Ray or Doug use??

Man, I run a 1515/1.5D in a Matrix rigger on 4S and it FLYS!!! I cant even imagine it with a 1D on 4S!!

If Mr. Eodman was talking 4S, then I appologize... I only assumed he was talking about a reasonable 2S setup... not a 4S hand grenade SAW boat...

And for the record... I have never even considered that I "know all" and would love to figure out how to go about NOT coming off that way... I do KNOW some things, however... and I do KNOW that a 1515 1D will work very well using a B125 ESC on 2S in a 27"-ish Mono or Sport Hydro...

Again, if Mr. Eodman was talking 4S... then my comment would change... I'll make sure to understand that next time...

It would appear that Mr. Eodman left out one fairly important piece of information, the voltage of the packs he is using. Until we know that, everyone is right
