Uh, no it does not - it depends on many things:

Motors (Neu, Tacon).
Batteries (TP, Rhino).
Installation (experienced, newbie).
Setup (experienced, newbie).
Pond size (lake, ice rink).
Water conditions (glass, waves).
Type of running (SAW, oval, sport).

Maximum speed is not determined just by the parts, they have to be put together correctly.

Even if you know the EXACT motor, batts and ESC, cog......................................then it depends on the prop..........................sorry to jump ahead of ya.

Which H&M cat, bud? I have a maritimo that uses twin Neu/CC 1515 1y's. I run 5s1p per side with detongued x447's and 2 Seaking 180's. It is an extremely fast setup. I truthfully havent tried it on 4s, but I'm thinking you'd be in the low 60's pretty easily (if setup properly). I've gps'd mine in the low 80's. I had to add a small air dam near the front of the tunnel to help her stay planted. Generally these type boats are best used for SAW type runs. They tend to trip up and hop a little in turns with too much speed.

i left my post for a while and outch i got smacked i guess i would start with an octura Y537/3 i wondered what would be the max speed i could get with that setup, and i could prop down for sport driving. i understand the prop is the factor just like gear ratio in cars. but u can only get so much out of a setup before u run out of power and burn everything up.....Thank you rumdog it is a maritmo i heard that hull just broke the speed record and i was thinking of making a crazy fast setup want to use stingers. i am trying to stay away from the HV ESC since all of the problems with castle.

Rumdog are u using the stingers from OSE,,,do they fit also what motor mount are u using

I dont think the y537/3 comes in a ccw rotation. You'll need counter rotating props. a x442 and x442/r is a good place to start.

There are a couple Arc 540's in the swap shop for sale, new unused. They are 2800kv. I ran these in my 32" cat on 4s and was at 81mph. I ran it with 45mm ABC props. On 3s with the same props it ran 60mph. These speeds were on my GPS. Its more of a SAW set up with these props and 4s, but damn, it was fast. Very fun boat. With 442's it was in the low to mid 70's. Arc makes a hell of a motor. They make good power and run cool. Definitely worth the money. Ryan has a good set up he suggested, Im just throwing another option out there.

thanks larry i have a few builds under my belt and i want to do a real nice twin setup but i want to use a known setup

Youre welcome and I understand. There are only a few people here that I know of that have used Arcs. If you ever get the opportunity to get one, do it. They are an amazing motor. Castle does make a very good motor, but in my own opinion, Arcs are up there between Neu and Castle motors in terms of quality. You can beat the crap out of them and they come back for more. I will do a build thread but i may be a little i am working on a DF 36" mono and the kids have kept me busy lately i will take a look at some Arc motors i haven't heard of them before. i wanted to have some time to research the H&M setup it is a nice hull.
