My friend Allen encountered this boat in his travels. There's a good chance he will get one of these hulls and ask me to build it as an FE. Anyone with prior knowledge of these designs ? Sounds like an interesting project.

Looks like the easy way to make a stepped mono, often the fastest way to run them is on the front step and prop anyway so do you really need the rear? I know someone in the UK who molds DF style hulls but with a more traditional step for Naviga Mono racing.Paul Upton-Taylor, Greased Weasel Racing.

OK, so where is the "after the launch" video?? Would be legal for Offshore... I'd like to see how it runs. I've thought about doing something like that previously, but we only have one place you can run it...Darin E. Jordan - Renton, WA

I'll talk to Allen soon to find out more. About what class it would run in - forget it - I don't need any more death threats from the rules guys !Originally posted by Darin Jordan View PostOK, so where is the "after the launch" video?? No questions there. It's very clear in the hull descriptions that this is not a legal "mono" in NAMBA, and therefore, would be for Offshore use only... or in Hydro... Unless I'm missing something.Originally posted by properchopper View PostAbout what class it would run in - forget it - I don't need any more death threats from the rules guys !Darin E. No real need to classify this ; Allen has no intention that I know of of ever competing with this. Just something unique to play with.Originally posted by Darin Jordan View PostNo questions there. I kinda' figured that; but Allen's a good customer and if he really wants one rigged, I'll give it a go. It will however be done under the psuedonym :Originally posted by Fluid View PostNot too dissimilar from the Bandit Boats "Bat Boat" I used to own. It sucked.

Yeah that's one of the guy's videos, but it's over a year old, while the video with this mono/cat is much newer. It may, or may not be the same hull.Originally posted by Basstronics View Post

He can call it anything he wants of course, but it is not a catamaran. It is not an air trapping hull, nor does ride on the "sponsons" since the vee is lower than the "sponsons". In effect it is a deep vee with a deeply cutaway stern. There is probably a reason he does not post the video of the boat running.....
