    Flex drive question

Does anyone use actual steel cable for flex shafts. Im wondering if its a good option to allow a 3.5 cc outboard leg to handle higher power motors. Since the 7.5cc legs are much harder to find, at least for reasonable cost. A 3/16 steel cable would be much stronger than the same size flez shaft no?

If your asking about wire "rope" then the answer is no, it will not work well. Its not wound or layed in a fashion to support torsion forces. Its meant to be be used in tension.
