The waterproofing of the board is the least of your worries, you need to see the rest of the posted message to gauge the real problem of the design and failure points.
I know I read it, just an idea. Sorry for bringing it up.

I know it's a nice idea, just we have to look at the potential issues that can happen. If I have to scramble to rip off the tape to get inside to disconnect a battery from the speed control fire/motor failure, and possibly get burned in the progress, I would rather disconnect a safety loop from the outside of the boat.
There is no replacement for displacement, I guess I just have to Buzz it higher!

Yea that is true! I guess I am looking at it from more of a sport boating side than a racing side with thinking it would be nice to cut the power with the transmitter whenever I wanted. I rarely have a boat esc or motor come in above 120F after long runs. If something did happen to make all the electronics in the boat fail the safety loop would be the way to go.\
I wonder how reliable you could make a safety loop controlled by a servo on one side and the ability to unplug it on the other side outside of the boat?

FYI
From a sporting side the same idea could be built to electronically change the battery pack to another one inside the boat for a longer run time. Don't think I have thought of that one along time ago in the brushed motor days! That is another topic some day!
Just remember to use a receiver battery for your idea. No BEC!
