I've tried this method and have found it to rarely work for me (usually bends or breaks off exterior of slit). Much better is to use a torx tip. Apply heat first, then lightly tap the tip in. It will bite and come right out.
I may try that.. but if it doesnt work immediately im just goin to buy another. Im going to need another for a project anyway so that'll do. I have very little patient right now, ive got a brand new tacon 4074 2000kv and seaking 180a waiting in my MG and i havent ran it yet.
One other option is to try a good, new, 1/16" allen wrench. It's just a smidge bigger than 1.5mm and may work. I had a stripped setscrew in an AQ coupler yesterday and a 1/16" wrecnh worked for me.
The 1.5mm wrench is 0.059" while a 1/16" is 0.062" (well it should be if it's a quality wrench). That extra 0.003" might make enough difference to get the screw out.
