i need advice on parts and setup for this boat. goal is speed and the boat wont be raced in sanctioned races so there are no rules.

im leaning toward the 2028 and need advice on batteries, props, esc, etc. run time is also important so i will try to max the mah.

any advice is appreciated and I'm also looking for parts to buy.

It may be a little small, but you could try the T180 from HK, its cheaper han some 180A esc's

Both Mike and Dave have built that hull recently and should be able to let you know what would be their choices. A 2028 might be too big. Something more like a Leopard 5692 might be in order if you dont want to go the obvious Lehner 2280 or Neu 1527. I'm doing a similar build myself this summer but its a BackLash hydro. And its bigger then the PT Winston. I did settle on the 2028 and a Schulze 40.160. Not sure on the prop yet but I already have a box full up to a 1462 size. I'll probably start around a mild 55mm wheel and see whats up.

too big? no such thing I'm really looking to push 80, can i get there with the 2028, 2 nano tech 10S 45-90C batteries, 240amp esc, and a fairly light boat. the spoiler/flaps are mixed into throttle so I hope it will stay on the water at those speeds. if it weighs 15-17 pound total what prop should i use with this setup.

You will definately be able to hit 80mph with the 2028 motor. Its got more power then that hull can utilize. Its going to come down how well you prop it and the quality of your ESC/ batteries. The 2028 so far has been a hit. A few guys burning up the water with their boats. Good luck.
