ok so what is the actual point of the mhz trimax drive? has anyone used this drive with any handling success? i bought an mhz racemaster that is equipped with the trimax..the handling is atrocious at this point in time...the drive moves all over the place and is causing nightmare turning and the straights are no better..i will get a few pics together and show how its mounted..there is really nothing from keeping the drive from swivelling left and right..i guess i am a little frustrated by this because its such a gorgeous boat with no handling or speed to show for the good looks...i am wondering if the trimax is just an over engineered, expensive turd...speedmaster never lets me down like this!! any input is appreciated and maybe some of you have set one up properly
mhz trimax crap to the max

Sorry to hear about your problems. I am sure one of our friends from across the pond will chime in. The three rods should not move once they are locked into position. Which I am sure you have gone over it with a fine tooth comb. Or unless it was install wrong?? Pics might tell more.HPR115 x2 ,Dark Horse Shovel, Delta Force CyberStorm, Delta Force Sniper 23-RTR:

here are some pics to show the swivel thats happening...there is set screw in the middle but when tightened it hits the flex cable and then the cable will not turn..the ball links will continue to swivel even if the linkages are snugged up tight"FE" STANDS FOR FRUSTRATING EXPLOSIONS

I think you might have a ripped off version of the TRI-MAX, look at this link http://www.mhzusa.com/Trimax-Middle-m-1727-M.htm
There reason why it is called a TRI is because it has 3 arms coming down to the drive shaft, and there should be 2 plates that keep the shaft sealed and not able to move around. I have never heard anything bad about the tri-max except of cost.

You might as well throw out that drive as the two arms won't stop the shaft from turning from the torque of the motor/flexshaft. I would ask for some refund on that so called tri-max. It is missing lots of parts. Not worth the money.HPR115 x2 ,Dark Horse Shovel, Delta Force CyberStorm, Delta Force Sniper 23-RTR:

No problems Rip; glad to share some light onto your problem. I had been eyeing the trimax before, but I had to take a double look at yours and the real trimax. It didn't look right.

rum are you referring to the picture from the link i posted? the knurled silver piece is inside the boat and is glued in..not real sure about the function of that piece either..something is just not adding up here..i will really need to fool with this thing some more or just remove it completely to figure out its true function..it may be installed wrongOriginally posted by Rumdog View PostLooks like it isnt really intended for wet well style mounting. Is that knurled looking peice on your drive?"FE" STANDS FOR FRUSTRATING EXPLOSIONS

i have popped the caps off and you can slide the strut forward and backwards but there is no threads there..i was wondering about that too..iwas thinking about soldering on the drive where the strut is turning as a temporary fix to keep it straight and not swiveling but it may still be bad handling"FE" STANDS FOR FRUSTRATING EXPLOSIONS
